I hope yall enjoy it!!! And have a happy and safe New Year!!!
2005 is almost here. Many things happened in 2004 that will always stand out in my mind. Here in my 2004 in review:
January was a busy month of running tests on why I had miscarried two times in the previous 6 months. It was pretty stressful and tiring to not know what was going on. The doctor finally decided that it was the fact that I had low progesterone. He ordered me on clomid and told Kent and I "no baby making for Feb." Well, Feb. came and we had really great Valentine's Day. Kent made me dinner and it was all and all a really great day!! Feb. 25th (lol) Kent and I didn't listen to the doctor's orders and we did some baby making. Little did we really know that Jon Kent was conceived that night (giggles). March 14th, I figured I might as well take a pregnancy test and see what comes up. It was positive and I thought I was going to be sick. I told Kent and he turned white. The only thought in my head was that we were going to lose this baby too. March 16th Kent and I celebrated our 2nd year of being married together by going to the doctor's. Their test came back positive as well and they tested my progesterone and it looked good. I was put on 2 pills of progesterone a day to keep it up. April came and went and for the most of it, I was sick. The pills that I was taking were making me very tired. I slept for most of the day. May came and I turned another year older...the big 21! Woohoo! It was also the day that my friend found out she was pregnant! We have great timing...don't we!?!?! Growing up we always wanted to have our kids grow up together too. It was neat to have her pregnant with me! Kent also celebrated being at his new job for a year. It was good to get that year in for him. It meant a nice pay raise and job security! June came and went and I was feeling much, much better!!!! It was summer and it was HOT! But I managed to get through it...LOL! July came and we as a nation celebrated the 4th. July 6th we found out what our baby was going to be....BOY, BOY, BOY! We were excited to finally be able to call the baby...Jon Kent! We also took a vacation to Florida with my family and then some friends. July 28th Kent celebrated being another year older as well...the big 23. August came and went. I can't recall much happening that month. September came and Kent and I took another vacation with his family. We had a good time. I also had two baby showers during the month of September. One thrown by family and the other was thrown by friends. I got a lot of stuff and they both were a lot of fun. October came and for the most part we were just trying to get things settled and ready for the baby. November...whew...November was a busy, busy month. I started really having contractions during the first few days of Nov. but nothing that was progressive. Then on Nov. 13th I was really having them and Kent and I went to the hospital. As soon as we got there they slowed down and eventually stopped, but my blood pressure was up...but they sent me home anyways. As we were driving home, my contractions started again and for the rest of the night they came and came and came... Sunday, Nov. 14th, I was feeling pretty bad from the lack of sleep. So I decided to walk and see if I could get them going more so I could go back to the hospital, but they only stopped after I started walking. That night I tested my blood pressure and it was pretty high. I called the hospital and they told us to come and get checked out. So we did...and the rest is pretty much history. The next morning I was admitted into the hospital to have Jon Kent. And at 5:05pm I gave birth to a precious 5lb 8oz little boy. We got to come home on the 17th, Jon Kent's original due date. We got to celebrate Jon Kent's first Thanksgiving too. It was a rough first few weeks, but we got through it. December came and Jon Kent got to celebrated his first Christmas. Although he slept through most of it. It was a good time....it all and all was a good year!
So, that was my 2004 in review. I hope next year brings everyone many fun times and many great memories!!!!
Happy New Year!!!!!!
Well, all the Christmas decorations are down. WHEW!!! My house is getting back to normal...well as normal as it can be considering I can't clean it everyday like I used to...LOL! But I shall live. It really didn't take all that long to get everything down and packed away. Roughly an hour I would say. Kent took down all the outside stuff and I took down the inside stuff and Jon Kent laid in his swing smiling. He was cute! Anywho, it's all down and put up...so until next year....
Kent and I went shopping tonight. And it was sooo much fun. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE going shopping. We shopped for about 3 hours then went and ate supper together. Jon Kent stayed at my parent's while we were gone. I actually got a lot of stuff. Like two long sleeve t-shirts from GAP, a t-shirt from American Eagle and some jeans, 2 sweaters from Dillards, and 2 shirts from Rue 21...and my grand total for all of that was... :::drum roll please:::: $150!!!! Woohoo!!! Go me, go me!!! Like I said, I had a blast!!! And I still have money left over!!!!
Tomorrow, UGH, I am going to the doctor (the lady doctor that is) for my 6 week check up! I'm hoping he says all is well and lets me start really exercising again. Hopefully everything will check out just fine!!! Also, Kent is keeping JK while I go to the doctor AND while I go to OLD NAVY alone so I can shop there. I'm looking forward to that as well!
Well, I must go. The dryer is calling my name! Yall be good and I hope your last days of 2004 are good ones!!!!
This is going to be quick because Jon Kent is already in bed and frankly when he is sleeping, I like to be!!!!
Christmas went pretty well. It actually didn't feel all that much like Christmas. I guess because Kent had to work and all and Jon Kent isn't old enough to really play Santa with. But besides all that, it was pretty good. I spent the first of the wee hours of the Christmas morning rocking my precious crying baby back to sleep... But that's what mommies do...right!?!?! We got lots of stuff. Money, clothes, gift cards, tools (Kent), lotions (me), and Jon Kent got lots of toys and clothes. He also got a high chair. All in all, we made out pretty well!!!
Tomorrow Jon Kent and I are going over to Kent's granny's for a family luncheon. Kent is starting his new shift tomorrow (working days now) so he won't be able to attend. But it should go well. That is if I get a good night's sleep... We'll see how that goes!!!
Well, that is all for now. I'm off to try and catch some ZzZzZzZs!!!! Yall be good and I hope everyone had a great and Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!!! I just got back from a family gathering! It was fun. We opened presents, played Dirty Santa, ate, and told stories of the good ole days! Jon Kent got a lot of cute things too..which all had his name on it..LOL! Anyway, now I am at my parent's house. I believe we are going to go looking at Christmas decorations here in a little bit. Then at midnight, since Kent had to work today, we are going over to my house and opening gifts from my parent's and brother. It will be a lot of fun!!! I wonder what they got me....hehehee!!!
Great news!!!! I got a new breast pump. Woohoo. Actually my lovely daddy found it for me. We are renting it for now. I am VERY happy with it!!! It is a Medela Lactina breast pump. It's not the Pump In Style one, but it works WONDERFULLY!!!! I was soooo excited to get it!! It was very easy to use and it's so easy on my body! Woohoo... LOL...I guess you would just have to know what all I have been through to relate to my excitement!!!
Well, tomorrow is Jon Kent's FIRST Christmas....awwwwww! Santa has already came to our house. Kent couldn't wait. We got him a Baby Einstein floor gym and some Baby Einstein toys. I figure with all the grandparent's, great grandparent's and other family members, he will get plenty! So far he has slept through most of the family gatherings. I'm hoping he continues to do well with his fussiness. He has been doing pretty good here lately. Let's hope he keeps it up!!!
Well, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas! And please remember the reason for the season. The birth of Jesus, the Savior of the world!!! And also thank someone you know who's family is serving in Iraq. They are really sacrificing for us...especially this time of the year!!!!
Jon Kent is in one of those moods. He doesn't and I mean doesn't for whatever reason want to latch when he is nursing. So, I end up pumping (which if you do it enough HURTS) out 4oz which takes me an eternity to get out! *sigh* I get frustrated because he will just sit there and cry with my boob (yes Daddy I said boob) in his mouth. It's frustrating!! It wouldn't be so bad if I could pump out more than 4oz at a time. Because it takes me 30 minutes just to get that out and then I feed him, then I have roughly one hour and 30 minutes to do whatever before I have to start the process all over. If anyone has any tips, just let me know.
Well, only 2 more days til Christmas! I am really glad that it's almost here. It has seemed like in the past week, the time has slowed down. I'm looking forward to spending time with family (even though my husband has to work) and seeing Jon Kent experience his first Christmas. But I am also looking forward to 2005. During 2005 my little boy will learn to laugh, talk, crawl, walk, etc. I can't wait to see it all happen!!!
Well, I need to go. I need to figure out something with Jon Kent's feedings. Yall be good and I'll talk with yall later!
I love that song. The first time I heard it was only like 3 years ago, but every Christmas I look forward to hearing that song. I don't know why I am telling yall that...just thought yall would like to know! ;)
Well after having two days of 60 degree weather we are now starting to cool down again. We ALMOST got snow. But alas we will have yet another Christmas with no snow. Oh hum...I guess that's what I get when I live in the south. It seems like every year the weather people tease us about getting snow and then like two days before Christmas they are like, "yeah no snow." Cruel people those weather guys...
Jon Kent update: He's still a cutie...but that is a given. His sleeping is good...then bad....then good...then bad. So, I am not going to brag on his sleeping patterns... It seems like everytime I do, the next night is horrible. He has started *grinning*. I won't call it smiling just yet. But he's getting there. He is starting to hold his head up as well. It's only for a few seconds, but it's progress!!! We have already given him his *Santa gifts*. His daddy couldn't wait! ;) I figure he will get lots of other gifts on Christmas from family so it will be OK to get our gifts early. Plus, he doesn't know Santa doesn't come on the 22nd! He is currently sleeping in his Paw-Paw's lap. Can we say spoiled??? But what else are you supposed to do to babies!?!?!?
Well, that is all the updating for now. Not much to really update on. Yall be good and I will talk with yall later!!!!
