Ha ha!

Two days ago was Kent's 27th birthday.  I cooked him a cake and his favorite meal.  We hope to go out on a date (dinner and movie) this Saturday if we can find arrangements for the kids.  He got a card from the kids and me.  The only thing he specifically asked for was for Nathan to laugh out loud for his birthday.  Sadly, Nathan didn't do it for him.  BUT today he did.  I was kissing his chunky thighs and tickling his belly and he laughed out several times.  We tried to get it on video but Jon Kent and Zoey kept talking.. so I don't know if you can hear it or not.  Anyway, I'll try to get a good video of it and will load it for your viewing pleasure.  Also, I'm still going to load the videos from vacation on here as soon as I get some more time to play with them.  So stay tuned.

More of our beach vacation

We had an all around good time on our vacation.  To really go through each day would get too detailed and to be honest I'm still too tired to really think it through.  Our days went something like this.. Wake up and get the kids dressed, take them to the beach, come back eat breakfast, go back out to the beach, come in eat lunch, nap, get dressed and ready to go out for the evening, come back to the condo, get the kids ready for bed, sleep and then do it all over again.  One day when the waves were just too rough we took the kids to a place called "Pump it Up".  It has all these inflatables indoors and the kids ran and played on it for about an hour or so.  They were wore out to say the least when we finally left.  It was neat and they enjoyed doing something different.  Plus it was only $12 for the both of them.  Another highlight of the trip was that Nathan rolled over (tummy to back) for the first time.  And for the first time in all my kids lives, I wasn't the first to see it.  My parents were and they sure loved it.  He rolled over on the 21st and then again on the 25th.  He is trying his hardest to sit up on his own.  I'm telling you, over the past week he has grown and developed in leaps and bounds.  He also found his feet last night.  Now he is just fascinated with them.  Too funny.

Well, I'll be back later with more pictures and maybe more details of other things that happened.  Yall enjoy!

What I learned

A crying hostess + a door + my child's face = one MAD momma bear.

1 hurricane + 2 red flags = a bunch of scary rescues.

1 rainy day + a massive headache + 2 hyper toddlers + 1 cranky baby = a not fun time at Margaritaville.

10 tickets + 5 kiddie rides = 2 happy kids.

1 early morning to the beach + 2 kids + 1 baby = a happy momma with a camera

Naptime + a watchful Poohba = my time to lay out alone to tan.

1 wife + poor directions = frustrated but smirkful husband (he knows he loves me!).

1 table + 1 broken chair = a bruised ear on my big little man.

2 kids + 1 bed = late nights of giggling and not going to sleep.

90 minutes + 4 inflatables = 2 tired, tired kids

10 people + 3 bed condo = tense moments but good times.

More pictures and videos to come!!

Much to do..

..about nothing.  Not a lot going on here.  We are taking it easy currently, just gearing up for our vacation.  Today was Kent's last day of work for the next 11 days.  Super excited about that.  He seems to be too.  We have plans to do "getting ready" type things over the next few days.  We are totally ready and excited about this trip.  Can't wait.

We are going to sign the kids up for soccer tomorrow.  It's starts (games) in September.  They have it for ages 2-18.  So both kids will get to play.  I can't wait to see them all running around trying to kick a ball.  I played soccer in high school.  I wish I would have gotten into it at a lot younger age.  I think I would have had a blast growing up and playing it.  But it just wasn't popular when I was a kid.  So I ended up playing t-ball, softball all the way until I was too old for the rec leagues.  Anywho, I look forward to seeing if they enjoy it as much as I did.

Well, that's about it.  Yall have a good one!

Honestly

I'm just going to be frank..

I love my kids.  I really, really do.  I waited so long for Jon Kent and after miscarrying twice before having him I was thrilled to finally be a mother.  God blessed me with a little girl, who according to my parents, acts just like I did at her age (how my parents survived without setting themselves on fire... anywho).  Then finally God blessed me with Nathan.  He is a ball of chunk and while he likes to be grumpy.. a lot.. first thing in the morning all he gives are smiles.  My three kids are wonderful.  And I love them.  But good gracious do I want a break.  I want a whole weekend of no kids.  Is that wrong?  I swear when I right in the middle of something, whether it be trying to get wet clothes in the dryer or fixing a meal or what have you.. they need me right then and there and if I don't come running they just get louder and louder.  Oh and Jon Kent is in this new phase of asking me some question and then when I answer him he decides he doesn't like the answer I've given him.  For example:

Jon Kent:  Why do we have feet?
Me:  So we can walk and run.
JK: I don't want to walk and run.
Me:  Fine.  Give me your feet then.
JK:  (whining) But I want my feet so I can walk and run.

OR

Jon Kent:  How many days until we go to the beach?
Me: 7
JK:  But I don't like the number 7.  I like 8.
Me:  But if it stays 8 days until we go to the beach, we will never get to go.
JK:  So?  I like 8.
Me:  Fine we just won't go to the beach.
JK:  But I want to gooooooooooo.

See?  I need a weekend, a whole weekend.  *sigh*

But I would miss them and talk about them the whole time.  Even when Kent and I do get a few hours without all of them we end up talking about them.  Isn't that how it usually works?

OK, I'm done complaining... for now.  Nathan has been sweetly waiting for me to pick him up.  So I'll go do that now.

My big girl bed :)

Yesterday we (Kent and I) got a new bed.  We were sleeping in a queen size bed but when all the kids got in it with us, there was just no room for us all to lay comfortably.  And the kids get in the bed with us every morning to snuggle and watch TV before we all start our day.  So we decided to get a king size bed.  The whole bed itself is huge.  And I'm not talking the mattress either.  The headboard is just ginormous.  It's taller than me.  I like it though.  After they brought it and set it up we put the kids down for a nap and then we took a nap on our bed to break it in.  Kent was thrilled.  Even Nathan enjoyed a nap in it yesterday.  Jon Kent keeps telling me, "Thank you for getting your new big bed.  It's pretty."  LOL

According to our "We're Going to the Beach in _ days" countdown, we have 8 more days until we pack up and head out.  The kids are still talking about it all the time and enjoy taking a sticker off every day.  They finally got the concept that they can't take all the stickers off in one day and get to go to the beach.  It just doesn't work that way.  I've still got a lot of planning to do before we go.  I've got to finish our packing lists.  I'm afraid I'll forget something really important.  And deciding what to take and what not to take..  I've been working on the packing list for over a week now.  I'm such a dork.

Memories..

The above picture is of my first house (as a married woman).  It's the house I brought 2 out 3 of my kids home to from the hospital.  It's the house that Jon Kent took his first steps in, said his first words in.  It's the house that Kent grew up in.  That Kent's daddy once lived it.  Needless to say it's "been in the family" for a long, long time.  And now it's gone.  Kent's grandfather was going to tear it down but one of the neighbors came by and asked if they could have it and move it.  Pops (Kent's grandfather) said sure as long as they clean up their mess when they were done.  Today when I was coming home the police had blocked off the road right in front of my driveway so I quickly told him I lived right on the other side of his car and he let me go around him.  Then I high tailed it (southern slang at it's best) inside to grab my camera.  It was certainly an interesting sight.

I'm tired... ZzZzZz

Today was a long day.  I'm tired.  It went something like this..

5:59am- Nathan wakes up to eat.  While eating he poops and it gets EVERYWHERE.  All over him, all over me, all over my bed sheets.  Nice.  I then proceed to do laundry.  Ended up doing 4 loads for the day.  After starting the laundry I hopped in the shower to rid myself of my youngest's poop-a-thon on my arms and legs.  Jon Kent and Zoey wake up while I'm in the shower.  I get out and cook breakfast, continue to wash clothes, clean the kitchen and get the kids dressed to go outside.  We all went outside and played for a bit (an hour) and then come back in, cool off and I fix everyone lunch.  Then I vacuumed the carpets.  Nap time.  I eat while they nap.  After nap I get everyone dressed.  Jon Kent and Zoey go to the great grands for the afternoon and I take Nathan over to my daddy's so I can go workout.  I workout for about an hour (2 miles on the treadmill and then light weight training).  Then I go back to my daddy's and tan and then take Nathan home.  I cook supper and while supper was in the oven I went through some clothes that my momma bought the kids and then some some clothes that were hand me downs.  Then after supper we took the kids outside to shoot fireworks.  We didn't get a chance to do it on the 4th because it rained.  So we did that tonight.  The kids loved it.  After that it was bath for everyone and then another shower for me.  I had a killer headache and a shower was just what I needed to end a long, tiring day.  Now I'm just winding down and fixing to head to bed after the weather report comes on the news.  Kent is already in the bed (this new work shift is for the birds.. early birds that is..).  I'm hoping Nathan sleeps really well tonight.. Momma needs her sleep.

3 Months

Happy 3 months to my littlest man!  You are growing and developing way too quickly!!  Some of the things you do:  Smile, laugh out loud (once so far and several times in your sleep), bat at toys, make and keep eye contact, wiggle in excitement when it's time to get in the bath, kick and wiggle when you are excited while playing, sleep great at night and still nursing like a champ!  I can't believe it's been 3 months already!

2 weeks

This time in two weeks we will be on our way to the beach!  The kids are excited and ask everyday (a million and one times a day) if we are going to the beach TODAY.  They think that if they pull ALL the sticks off TODAY they get to go to the beach.  Which is why when I went by the countdown yesterday allll the stickers were off.  It's hard explaining to a 3 and 2 year old that just because you take all the stickers off now doesn't mean we will just hop in the car and head to the beach.  When we do finally get to tell them to go get in the car, it's time to go to the beach I'll try to remember their facial expressions for the rest of my life.

Why, Hello July

Happy July to all.  It's finally July which means our vacation is nearing!  Yay, yay, yay!  I'm looking forward to hitting the beach!  I made a countdown thingy for the kids to take a sticker off each day and it counts down the days until we leave to go to the beach.  The kids are super excited over it.  They keep asking "how many days momma?".  And I was telling them how when we go they get to watch a movie on the way to the beach and Zoey asked, "We gonna have a TEEEEVEEEEE in the car?!?!?!".  She was just thrilled at that idea.  LOL.  They are both so looking forward to going to the beach.  They can't wait.  Nathan.. well as long as his boob juice (me) is there he doesn't care where we are.

July is a busy month for us.  We have the 4th on Friday which is the annual "P" (maiden name) reunion.  Then a week from today is my daddy's birthday.  Then we have vacation from the 19th-26th.  Kent's birthday is the 28th and then we have VBS the 28th-Aug 1st.  Busy, busy month.  The Wiggles are having a concert close by but we will be at the beach when they come to town... which stinks because the kids would have loved it, but they will never know because we sure aren't telling them.  ;o)

Well, that does it for now.  Enjoy my randomness of pictures.
