And we have a septic tank
They are currently putting our septic tank in. My MIL (mother-in-law) called and told me that they were up there. I'm sure it's going to be a big ole mud pile for weeks...months even. Especially since its going to be raining this weekend. Oh well, at least they are putting it in. It's just one more step towards being able to move in.

Jibber Jabber
Thanks to everyone who left a comment. I am glad that *yall* like the color of the master bedroom. I sooo love it. Kent on the other hand...he calls it the "booger room". @@ The painters came back yesterday and painted the kids' rooms as well. Jon Kent's room is blue and Zoey's is pink. I will have to take some pictures today or tomorrow to share with yall. Now, I just have to find some bedding that matches Jon Kent's paint color and some crib bedding for Zoey. I think I have found some for Zoey that is absolutely CUTE, but I just have to make sure it matches her room. We did have some bedding for Jon Kent picked out, but it doesn't match his room. So we are at square one with him. Anyway, I am just so excited to be able to move into the house soon and put my touches on it and make it a home.
Kent had training today and has it through Friday. So that means he is working during the day. Today went by pretty well. Jon Kent got up at 8:30am and Zoey got up at 10:30am. We then went grocery shopping and by the time we got home Jon Kent was out. He took a nap while I unloaded the car and put everything up. After he got up, he went to see Kent's grandparents and that is where he currently still is. Zoey is napping and I am catching up on some Internet time. The pictures of her are from today (about a hour ago actually). Anyway, speaking of Zoey, she just woke up. Talk with yall later!

YAY! House Update

Just a kiddos update
Where to begin...
I'll start with my eldest. Jon Kent is 14 months old as of Sunday (15th). He is eating better (thankfully). Still don't know exactly what is up, although Kent says he has an idea. Maybe he will enlighten us all by leaving a comment (haha). ANYWAY, Jon Kent is actually starting to prefer table foods over "baby" food. He will turn his nose up at almost any jarred food. He does like the Gerber entrees for now. But he will always come running if he sees you with a plate from the kitchen. He is talking more (finally). He says the originals--mama, dada, baba (bottle, sippy cup), bye-bye. He also days belly button (he'll point to mine and then I will tell him to point to his and he will), Papa (Kent's daddy), Paw-Paw (Kent's grandfather), Poohba (my daddy), cracker (not real clear, but clear enough to know what he wants), kitty (not clear but we get the idea), hello (now this is sooo cute! He will pick the phone up or the remote--LOL--and say HELLOOO. Cracks me up every time!). I'm sure there are some words that I am forgetting... He will also point to MY nose and eyes. All he will point to on himself is his ear. He is sleeping 10-12 hours straight every night. In our bed though, but at least it's solid sleeping... Umm what else... He is in size 5 diapers but is starting to thin out a bit. Probably because he doesn't eat AS much and is VERY, VERY, VERY active. We go for his 15 month check up and shots like the first week in February and also he goes to see his ear doctor the 9th of February. Lots of doctor appointments in the future.
On to Zoey...
She is 6.4 weeks old. Her facial features are changing everyday. She was born looking just like her brother and although she still does some, she is starting to look more like ME everyday... YESSSSSS!!! 'Bout time I have a kid that looks like me! She is smiling more and more each day. She is trying to "talk". She will get a yell out every now and then when she gets really excited. She is becoming more alert now as well. Although she is still sleeping a lot. I'm not used to having a baby that sleeps like she does. But I am thankful none the less. She is sleeping great at night. A 4-5 hour stretch before a feeding and then another 3-4 hour stretch before the next feeding. She usually takes a 3-4 hour nap in the mornings and then 2 hour naps in the afternoon. She nurses great. Although she is still spitting up a bit, but nothing that was like Jon Kent's spitting up. Either that or I am just used to it. It's amazing to believe that I am the only source of "food" for her. It's a great feeling to know that all the weight she has put on and how she is growing so beautifully is all coming from me. She won't take a bottle though. I am (when I say "I am" I mean someone else giving her a bottle) trying to introduce one to her though (breast milk) so that I can leave her if I have to (doctor appointments or what have you). We'll see how it goes.
In other news that isn't about the babies...
The painters have been at the house. They have painted the trim, the bedroom doors, and the closet doors. I believe the walls are next. But since it has been raining and kind of chilly here, it is taking the paint longer to dry. So it may take longer than we thought it would for the painters. Still looking at the first or second week in February as the move in date. Not really holding my breath though.
On to one of my New Year's resolutions...
I have lost 26 pounds (WOOT-WOOT). Still have roughly 23 more to go though. Whew...23 more. UGH! Not to mention getting my flabby abs back into shape. But I am determined to look good in a bathing suit this summer. Because this will be the first summer in 3--count them THREE--summers that I haven't been pregnant. So I want to actually wear a "normal" swimsuit! I'll keep ya posted.
Well, I do believe this is the end of my update! What an update, eh. I guess I had a lot to talk about! So until next time... I'll talk with yall later!

To clarify
Let me clarify about the gagging, throwing up, and grits...
It's not just when we feed him grits. He throws up oatmeal, toddler cereal, muffins, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, chicken, fries, etc. You name it, he has thrown it up. And he does like grits. During one of his *good periods of eating, he would eat a whole bowl of it. So it isn't that. I believe it's a *real problem. Like a medical one. Thus the reason we have an appointment to see his pediatrician the 17th.
About the fever. It's from a viral infection. We had to take Jon Kent in this morning to get checked out as he was still running a 102 fever. We were going to ask about the gagging today but 1) we didn't see Jon Kent's regular pediatrician. She was at Disney World. And 2) we waited 1.5 hours before we even saw the doctor THEN had to get lab work to rule out strep and the flu. Which he has neither. So we just flat out forgot. The doctor said it will pass in about 3-4 days. To just push fluids and give him Motrin/Tylenol for the fever. And no he viral infection isn't causing the throwing up. He has been doing that for weeks now.
Well, I am going to go. I have to get up early tomorrow to go to a OB/GYN appointment of my own. It's my 6 week PP check up. It's an hour drive and it's at 8:45am. PLUS there is a wicked looking line of storms coming through and the weather man said that we could be under tornado watches/warnings all morning tomorrow. Fun stuff to drive in...
Anyway, I'll update more on myself and the family when I get another chance!

Nearing the end of my rope
First of all, Jon Kent woke up last night around 10:30pm wanting in the bed with us. Ever since his episode of hyperventilating, we don't even try to let him cry or see if he can settle himself back down. Plus, if he cries for too long, he wakes Zoey up. Anyway, around 1:30am Zoey wakes up for a feeding. About the time I am trying to get her settled back down (2am) Jon Kent wakes up and is whinny. Kent tries to settle him back down but realizes that Jon Kent's face is hot. So he goes and takes his temp and it was 102.8. I kind of freaked for a moment. So I give him some Motrin and Kent calls an on call nurse and she asked him a ton of questions. I have Jon Kent in my lap in his diaper and Zoey in a blanket still trying to get her asleep. And by this time Jon Kent's whole body is hot. Anyway, the nurse told us to just keep an eye on him for an hour and see if the Motrin brings his fever down. Jon Kent was in heaven...having Kent's and my full attention until around 3am or so. He got to watch Jay Leno, have books read to him, got some Baba (water in his sippy cup), etc. At 3am Kent took his temp again and it was 100.5. So we all went to bed. Around 5:30am, Zoey wakes up for another feeding. By this time Jon Kent was wiggling around too. Sure enough as soon as I was just about to get Zoey back to sleep, Jon Kent starts crying for me wanting me to hold him. If only I had 4 arms. So I just put Zoey in her cradle said a prayer that she goes to sleep on her own (somehow) and cuddle Jon Kent until he went to sleep. The ONE good thing that came out of all of this is we ALL slept in until 9:30am. Oh, and Jon Kent has two more bottom teeth coming in... Maybe that was the reason for the fever???
THEN Kent is feeding Jon Kent his breakfast (grits). Jon Kent gags and throws it all up. He does this EVERY morning. I personally believe it's more than him just not chewing. I mean it's grits. How can you gag on grits? They weren't thick at all. More soupy than anything. I am just at my wits end with it. I probably will be gray by the end of 2006. I worry so much about him because I don't want him to think we don't love him (because I have to spend so much time with Zoey). It's just a hard line to walk... I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere, but right now it's hard to see it and hard to actually think it's ever going to come.
In other news, our house is coming along. They put all the doors up and most of the trim. They have all the flooring preparations finished as well. They are supposed to come back tomorrow and finish the trim. Then it's paint, cabinets, flooring, plumbing, and wiring. Then we are in. The contractor said the first of February would probably be our most realistic move in date. I was hoping we already be in it.
Well, that is all for now.

Tuesday
Thanks to all who left comments about Jon Kent and his sleeping problem. Things haven't gotten any better. The night I wrote my last entry was the icing on the cake. He woke up and I went and rocked him back to sleep. As soon as I get him into his room he wakes up and starts crying. Kent gets home a few minutes later and we try to talk him back to sleep. We let him cry a little bit and it almost worked until I had to change Zoey's diaper and he heard me. Well it was all down hill from there. He starts screaming and crying and before we could do anything about it we hear him puke. Yes puke. All in his bed, all over his PJs, everywhere. It was horrible. We try and get him cleaned up but the poor child starts hyperventilating. Ever since, we just put him in the bed with us. Although, he spent the night with my parents Saturday night and slept in his crib there all night. Go figure that one out!
Zoey on the other hand, for a newborn, has been sleeping pretty well. I give her a bath around 8:30pm and put her in her swing or bouncy seat until about 10 or 10:30pm. I get her up change her diaper and feed her. She is usually out by 11 or a little after. She usually sleeps until 2am and gets up for a feeding. Then she is back down until 6 or so. I usually only have to get up with her once a night unless we go to bed earlier like we did last night. She was in bed by 9:30pm. She sleeps great! She takes a morning nap also that usually last 3-4 hours. Then she cat naps the rest of the day. I guess she got the sleeping gene that Jon Kent passed up.
Well, both of my babies seem to be waking up from their naps. I will try to update more later. Still a lot to talk about. Plus, the weather here has been too good to pass up. Kent, Jon Kent, Zoey, and myself all spent the morning outside playing. High 60s here. Anyway, I'll talk with yall later!

Rambling with a House Update
Tonight is the 3rd night that I have been without Kent. Last night was the first night that I was completely alone to do all the bedtime routines with the babies. To say it was hard would be an understatement. It took me two hours to do the whole thing. I started feeding Zoey at 7pm. Gave her a bath after that and got her asleep. Then gave Jon Kent his bath. When I went to get him out of the tub he didn't want to get out so he started whining. Which woke Zoey up. Jon Kent is naked with his towel on his head and is walking around behind me while I get Zoey settled back down. Then I started trying to get Jon Kent into his PJs. By the time he was in his diaper Zoey is BACK to crying. I get her settled back down and asleep and then finish things up with Jon Kent. He is asleep and in bed by 9pm. THEN Zoey wakes up to eat at 9:30pm and I get her fed, changed, and back in bed by 10:30pm. I crawl into bed at 10:45pm and am awaken by Jon Kent crying and wanting in the bed with me at 11:15pm. Get him in the bed with me and he wiggles and kicks until roughly 12am. Kent gets home a little after midnight and gets in the bed around 1am. Zoey gets up at 1ish for a feeding and then at 5:30am-ish for another feeding. At the 5:30 feeding Jon Kent sits up in bed and I'm guessing thinks it's time to get up as well. I really don't think he actually went back to asleep. If he did it was only for cat naps. He gets up at 7am and Kent gets up with him. I stay in bed with Zoey... Kent...such a trooper. We all took naps this morning...lol. Anyway, tonight went MUCH smoother. My parents came over and helped with getting everyone bathed and feed. Both babies are asleep now but Zoey should be getting up soon for a feeding. Then it is bed for me... I am really hoping that Jon Kent will stay asleep and stay in his bed tonight. Anyone got any advice on getting him to sleep through the night. I mean he is almost 14 months old and still hasn't been a regular through the night sleeper...
In other news, the house is slllooowwwlllyyy coming along. They have started on the floors and have all the doors delivered to the house. Now, if we could only get the people to work more than one day a week... I mean I understand that the holidays will slow things down, but the holidays are over. There is no excuse for not coming out and working now. And to top it off, the guy told Kent Monday or Tuesday that he would be done with all the molding by today. Um, yeah... We haven't seen them since...
The pictures are of Zoey that I took earlier in the week and of the house. By the way, Zoey is 5 weeks old today!! She is getting a lot more alert and is really starting to hold her head up pretty well. She smiles more now too. I know they aren't responsive smiles but they are still just as cute.
Well, I better get going... Zoey will be up soon.

Kent's first day back

Zoey's one month appointment
Zoey had her one month check-up today. She weighed 10lbs & 11oz. She is 21.5 inches long. She is GROWING!! Momma's milk! Anyway, she had to have her second round of Hep. B shot. She did OK with it. Wasn't happy about it and has been kind of cranky since. She also has a really bad rash on her booty that we are having to treat with Tucks ointment. We are hoping that clears up soon. It seems to be really bothering her. I have been putting Desitin on it, but it never seemed to really work or clear up the rash. So I am hoping the Tucks does the trick. Anyway, she goes back in a month for her two month check-up.
Yesterday, Jon Kent got his first hair cut. It was only a small trim around his face to get the hair out of his eyes and off of his ears. You can tell he got a hair cut, but only if you are looking for it. We didn't want to get a lot taken off because he has cute little curls in the back. I'm keepin' those curls as long as possible!
Tomorrow is Kent's LAST day off before he goes back to work on the 4th. I'm getting anxious about it. I'm worried I won't be able to handle both babies. I'm scared that Zoey will need me at the exact times Jon Kent needs me and vise versa. I'm know it's going to happen, I just don't know how I am going to get it all done. But I will I am sure. Just got to get into some sort of routine. I will help that Kent won't go into work until 4pm Wed-Fri and then 2pm on Sat & Sun. So he will be there for breakfast, first nap, and lunch. I will just have to do second nap, supper, bath time, and bedtime. It will be hard at first I am sure, but we will get through it. We always do.
Well, I am going to go and spend time with my family. One of my New Years resolutions. And yes I started my 'diet' today...woohoo (sarcasm). I'll let yall know how I do. I have already lost 24 pounds of 'Zoey pregnancy' only 5 more to lose from her. I had 10 left over from Jon Kent and I would also like to lose 10 more after that. So 25 pounds still left to take off. I'll keep yall posted. Have a good night everyone!!
