Hair cut.. for Jon Kent. So don't freak out, it wasn't Zoey!

I have to call my hair stylist (also Jon Kent's) and tell her that she will no longer be needed to cut Jon Kent's hair.  Tonight I was cutting Kent's hair and Jon Kent came in and said he wanted his hair cut too.  So he goes alllll the way into the kitchen and drags a chair into our bathroom and sits in it.  I guess waiting for his turn.  So Kent and I discussed it and Kent started cutting Jon Kent's hair and I finished it.  And it actually looks pretty good!!  It will save us $10 a month.. lol.  So enjoy the pictures!

Memorial Weekend

I really don't have much to update on.  Things here have still be easy going and quiet.  For which I am thankful for, so don't get me wrong!  I did have to take the kids to the doctor Wednesday.  They both have had coughing and runny noses off and on for about 2 weeks or longer.  So I finally gave in and took them in.  The doctor ran some blood work to rule some things .  It wasn't anything bad, thankfully.  But it is congestion in the chest and just your average infection..  So they are both on a round of antibiotics for 10 days.  Then we go back in 2 weeks to recheck them.  Hopefully it will all be gone by then.  I hope they both are completely well before we go on vacation.  We only have about 15 more days.

Next week things will be busier.  I *think I'm going to try and have a yard sale next weekend.  I'm not totally sure on that yet.  If not it will still be busy with getting ready for VBS and decorating the room we will be using.  It's a sports theme this year so decorating won't be nearly as hard as it was last year.  Last year it was an Arctic theme.  Snow in summer anyone?!?!?

Well, I'm going to go play around on the Internet.  I just wanted to stop by and throw a quick update in so yall would know I was still alive!  Later!!

It's a slow go, Mo

Right now is a slow time in our schedules..  Nothing happening.. just going from day to day to day.  Things will start to pick up in June and probably won't settle down until August.  So I guess I should enjoy the slowness while I can.  But I just get so bored, so easily.  The weather has cooled down a bit, so we can't go outside and swim.  I did take the kids to the park this morning.  We stayed there for about an hour.  By the time we got back the kids were both ready for naps.  Which they both are doing now.  I'm washing clothes and cleaning up here and there where I can.  I am just so bored right now though..  *sigh*

June 4th-8th we are having VBS (Vacation Bible School) at my church.  I'm one of two teachers for the kindergarten class.  I'm looking forward to it.  Last year was pretty fun and we had a lot of kids to show up, so that is always good.

June 10th-16th is when we head to the beach!  I'm REALLY looking forward to that.  Since both of the kids are really at ages where they can kind of do their own thing and don't have to be carried around so much.  Plus, I am just ready to get away for a bit.  Spend time with family and get a tan while I'm doing it.

23 days and counting..

Happy Birthday to Me!!

My 24th Birthday has come and just about gone.  It was a good day.  I was treated very well and felt special most of the day.  Kent and the kids had cards for me this morning.  For Mother's Day and my birthday.  Kent cooked breakfast.  When I got to church I was showered with many gifts and was sang to several times.. lol.  After church we went to Kent's granny's to eat lunch.  There was a birthday cake for me.  So that was nice.  And for the rest of the day we just sat around and relaxed.  The kids played in their pool all afternoon and just had a good time.  So it was a great day for a birthday and a great day to be a mother!!  I hope everyone had a good day as well!!

A week of swimming

We have been keeping busy around here for the past week.  Last Saturday we went to a thing my city does every year at the park called Sunshine Saturday.  It's always the first Saturday in May.  Before going there we went to the library for a reading hour and activities.  It was a good time and Zoey even won a door prize!  I plan to enroll them in their summer reading program.  It's on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  They will get to meet new kids there and also I'm hoping it will start a foundation of them wanting and liking to read.  They love for me to read to them both during the day so I'm sure they will enjoy it at the library too!  Anyway, after the library we met Kent's parents at the park for Sunshine Saturday.  The kids had a blast!  They rode the airplane ride, played some games, rode the train and Jon Kent slid down the HUGE inflatable slide!  I got a picture of him but it's on Kent's mom's camera.  I'm hoping to get it and I'll post it if I do.  After that we went home and both kids went right down for their naps.  They slept for over 2 hours!  So that was nice.  After they woke up I blew up their pool from last year (tiny, tiny now that they are bigger!) and filled it up.  They had a blast playing in it and sliding down in it.

Several days this week we have also blown up the pool and let them play.  They have had the best time swimming and splashing around.

Today after Jon Kent got his haircut the kids and I ran to Wal-Mart to pick them up a bigger pool.  That other one was just way too small, plus it had a small hole in it.  So I got them a bigger one and some beach balls to play with.  They were sooo excited!  They had the best time in it today.  And a lot of room to lay down and "swim".  They slid down the slide and splash and just carried on and on.  It was so sweet!!

As you can tell I've gotten some pictures of them from the past week.  So I hope you enjoy them.. and.. GASP!! I'm in a couple of them as well!!  Yall enjoy!

May

May is a great month!  Not only is it the start of great weather and the start of many fun summer activities.. it's also the month that we get to celebrate motherhood.  Whether we are mothers or not isn't the point.  It's still a time to reflect on our own mothers and all they have done for us through the years.  The lessons they have taught us, the things they gave up for us, the money they forked out for us that they would have never spent that much on themselves.  I'm slowly coming to the understanding of all my own mother has done for me.. continues to do for me.. as I continue down the path of motherhood myself.  Raising my kids the best I know how.  Making mistakes, learning lessons, teaching lessons, giving up things, spending more on them than myself and enjoying EVERY minute of it!!

Also in this beautiful month, on Mother's Day as well, I'll be celebrating my birthday!!  24 years and still going!  May I have a 100 more to go with it!!
