And so it begins...

They put the footings in today for our house.  So it has officially started!  Woohoo!!!  Once Kent and I went up to look at all they did today we both thought the same thing---"It sure does look small".  Then we both thought---"Oh, that's because they haven't put the footings in for the garage".  Our bubble was busted when Kent's dad came out and said that they did indeed put in the footings for the garage.  Once we got to looking at it, we realized that it really isn't small, it's just hard to picture the whole house in that one spot.  Everyone keeps telling us that once the walls are up and they have it closed off, that the house will look a lot bigger.  I hope so!  Anyway, the pictures are of what they did today.  Enjoy!!

Our house is finally underway...

Well...almost....

The builders are *supposed* to come tomorrow some time and put the footings for our foundation in.  Kent and I had to place markers where we wanted the front corners of the house to be.  That way they knew which way to face the house.  So hopefully our wait is over and our house is now ready to be built!!  I sure hope so.  The waiting was more stressful than I thought it would be.  I can only imagine what kind of stress there will be when they actually start building it!  Kent and I are going later today to sign off on the blueprints.  I am so glad we are getting closer!

There hasn't been much else going on here.  Just been busy.  With Kent working during the days, I have had Jon Kent all to myself.  It's been a lot harder than I thought it would be.  Being almost 8 months pregnant and chasing an almost 11 month around is harder than it looks.  By the end of the day my back and hips are killing me.  I seriously think my back in out of line.  I can feel my bones in my hips rubbing against each other.  Not a very lovely feeling.

Well, I need to go.  My little one is asleep so I am going to enjoy the quietness while I have it.  Have a great day everyone!!

MUCH better today!!

Last night Kent and I both were extremely tired.  He worked out before coming home, not to mention he played 2 hours worth of basketball Sunday.  So he was in the same place as me last night when 9:15pm rolled around....the bed!  And no, we weren't "practicing" for baby #3.  ;0)  We were asleep!!  I was so tired that by the time 8pm came I was ready for bed.  But I knew I would end up just laying there until much later.  So, Jon Kent got his bath at 8pm instead.  He was out like a light by 8:30pm with his mommy and daddy quickly following suit.

Today Kent got up at 6am, Jon Kent and myself got up at 6:30am.  Which is roughly 45mins-1 hour earlier than usual, but I didn't mind.  It was nice to spend some time with Kent before he headed off to work.  Jon Kent got to play and eat breakfast with his daddy.  Kent left for work at 7:15am and Jon Kent and I took a two hour nap from 7:45-9:45am.  Which that was REALLY nice!!  After we got up we played for a bit and then Jon Kent was hungry so he had a bottle.  Then we played some more.  Around 12pm Kent's granny called and asked to keep Jon Kent for a little bit.  So I happily agreed.  Since he has been gone I have washed dishes, swept, and picked up all his toys.  I have ate lunch and just surfed the web.  I like these kind of days!

Well, I am off to do some more of nothing.  I'll talk with yall later!  Have a great Tuesday!!

I really shouldn't have...

I did WAY too much today.  And Little Miss Zoey and letting me know ALL about it!!  I just wanted to get it all done today, so that at least tomorrow would be a "do absolutely nothing" kind of day.  I got it all done, but boy am I feeling it now!

I washed 6 load of clothes, washed dishes, straighten up the house, cleaned the counter tops, gathered the trash (still need to take it out though), went grocery shopping, and cooked meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and rolls.  Not to mention changed 2 poopie diapers, 3 wet diapers, fixed and fed three "baby meals", played peek-a-boo 298 times, patty cake 299 times, and rocked and snuggled with my "little man".  Oh and we played with ALL the toys in the house.

To say I am tired would be a great under statement!!  Thankfully, I have a wonderful husband who realized that this mommy was pooped and needed a break.  So Kent took Jon Kent to Wal-Mart to give mommy some down time.  Because there is still bathtime and the whole bedtime routine to tackle.  Once again, I am thankful for Kent because he will help with that as well.  I really do have a great husband!!

Well, I am going to go watch Jeopardy and put my feet up.  They are a bit "fluffy" (swollen).  I'll talk with yall later!!  Have a great night everyone!!

It's Saturday night...

And not a thing going on....

By the way, I am still mad at AOL for my counter being off!  I looked at some other people's journals and theirs aren't messed up!  This is what I get for paying yall (AOL) $14.95 a month!  I would hate to see what yall would do to my account if I only paid $9.95.

ANYWAY---The consignment sale went fairly well.  My momma and I got a lot of stuff for Jon Kent and Zoey.  But by the time we got there (which was only like 15 minutes after it started) the place was full of people.  And a lot of the women would just grab a bunch of stuff without looking at it.  Then when they figured they had enough, they would go to a corner and sort through their stuff and then put whatever they didn't want on a discard rack.  So there probably was a lot of stuff I never knew was even there...which in my opinion is pretty rude!  But I still got some nice things.  I got Jon Kent some wind pants (Carter's and Nike), 2 pair of blue jeans (Levi and Tommy Hilfiger), 2 fleece pull overs (GAP and Arizona), a sleeper, and I forget what else.  I got Zoey like 3 dresses (GAP and OLD NAVY), 3 or 4 sleepers (Carter's and Little Me), and a cute blue jean outfit that comes with a green top.  I need to take some pictures, but I have already put their clothes up.  My momma really racked up too!  When we were in line paying for our stuff I over heard another lady telling this woman her total...it was like $360!!  I was like whoa!!  She had a lot of stuff, but still....$360 is a lot to spend on just clothes.  Maybe she has a lot of kids???  Anyway, it was a good time.  I am probably going to go back Oct. 1 for their 50% off sale and see what they have left.  Who knows...maybe I will find something that was over looked!!

Anyway, I guess that is all.  I have bottles that needed to be washed.  I'll talk with yall later!!

Just writin'

First of all...WHY did my counter thing to the right suddenly just start over??  I did not change the name of my journal so why should it start over??  I am about ready to just take it out of my journal.  It has been like that for a few days now, so I know it's not just AOL messing with things today.

Tomorrow I am going to my first consignment sale.  Woohoo!!  I am pretty excited about it---yeah I know I need to get a life.  But I am ready to see if I can find some bargains.  I am hoping to really get some good things for Jon Kent so that his Fall clothing will be set.  And it wouldn't hurt to be able to find Zoey some cute things as well.  The consignment starts at 9am.  I just wonder how many other people will be there first thing.

Well, I am off to bed.  Kent has already gone to bed and is asleep.  He has to get up early (5am) and go into work at 6am.  So I do believe I will be joining him now in dreamland.  OH, we went to the movies tonight and saw "Just Like Heavcn" with Reese Witherspoon.  It was actually a pretty good movie.  It's a chick flick but I heard Kent laugh a few times.  He said it was pretty good.  Anyway, just thought I would let yall know just in case anyone was wanting to see it...

Night all!!

While I've got a little time on my hands...

The boys are currently taking their morning nap, so I've got some time on my hands to share some pictures with you.  All these were taken within the last week or so.  I really need to get Jon Kent's picture taken professionally soon.  It's been months since I've done it.  We have just taken them ourselves and printed out the copies that we wanted.  But I really do need to get some posed ones done before he turns one.  Anyway, enough of my rambling.  I need to go fold some clothes!!  Enjoy the pictures!!

Daddy's Home!!

Kent is off today!  He is currently watching "Breakfast with Bear" with Jon Kent.  I really like having him home with us.  We always end up having stuff to do while he is off though, because we can't really get to it during the week while he is working.  But at least we can do it together, which I think just makes us closer in the long run.

I have a lot of washing to do today and Kent said something about washing the car.  Jon Kent has his usual day of messing the house up and pulling dirty diapers out of his trash can.  He has already accomplished both this morning and it's not even 9am yet!  LOL!  =0)  We also have some things with the building of the house to get done.  Kent has to call the "911 Address Office" today and order us a mailing address.  I don't know why the building company wants us to do this now, but they do.  I am sure they have their reasons.

I can't believe there is another Category 5 Hurricane in the Gulf.  I really hope that "Rita" weakens before making land fall.  I really would hate to see another "Katrina like disaster".  I know that the news people said that people in Texas were taking this very seriously and getting as far from the shores as they could.  So hopefully if it does hit, there won't be anyone there.  Homes can be replaced, lives can't.

Well, I guess I am off to do my "chores".  I'll talk with yall later!  Have a great Thursday everyone!!

All is quiet...

Do you hear that??  You don't???  Neither do I!!  All is quiet in the O____'s household.  Kent is at work (he went in early today; 7:30am) and Jon Kent is napping.  He should be getting up any minute now though.  He has been asleep since 9:45am and here it is 11:05am.  Pretty good napping for him!  Yippeeee!!

I have actually gotten a lot done today.  Considering I am doing all the "child rearing" solo.  We got up at 7:15am and kissed daddy (Kent to me ;0)) good-bye for the day.  Then we ate breakfast--both of us.  Then we played with some toys and watched "The Wiggles".  After they went off we cleaned the bathroom sink and brushed our teeth...yes Jon Kent got his brushed too.  And thankfully, he likes it.  Then we went outside and swung for about 15 minutes.  We watched a bunch of cars, trucks, and buses go by.  After swinging we went inside to cool off and put Jon Kent on some socks.  Then it was back outside to play and walk around.  While we were out there, we ran into PawPaw and Granny.  We played with them for a little bit and then decided it was nap time.  We we came in and had some water.  Before taking a nap Jon Kent helped me vaccuum the house.  But after all that hard labor, Jon Kent was out like a light.  During Little Man's nap I have cleaned counter tops, washed dishes, and cleaned the stove.  And got all my emails read.  Not bad.  Well, as I predicted...Little Man is up.  And he has something to say:  bnnbxc kljjj   hc hjm   ccc   gv  c ljn nkm j ; b          h    n;nlnnnn

Did yall get that??  LOL!  Have a great day everyone!

Warning: This is a vent

I am going to make this a quick little vent because Kent will be home soon and I like to be off of here when he gets home.

:::Again I am warning you, if you don't want to read my complaining I suggest you hit the little red X at the top of this page:::

OK, so I am almost 30 weeks pregnant.  That leave roughly 10 weeks to get things in shape and in order in my house.  Now, this may seem like a long time to you, but to me--not so much.  I have to "Fall Clean" my whole house.  I usually do this during November, but I figured with the baby coming and already having Jon Kent here that November would be pushing it.  SOOO, I made out a HUGE list of all the things I need to do.  Well, the first REAL chance I am going to have to really get that list done is the first week of October.  Which is only 2 weeks away--but since like 2 years away.  And to top it off, I do believe I am nesting.  AGHHHH!!!!  NOT THE NESTING!!!!  I want to throw EVERYTHING in this house OUTSIDE and bring it all back in PIECE BY PIECE--AFTER it has been spit shined.  But that isn't going to happen.  Also, i know that once I do clean everything, that I will have atleast 7 more weeks for it all to get dirty again before the baby comes.  And there is so much to do.  Clean out the clothes, clean under the bed, go through clothes, dust EVERYTHING, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, bleaching, disinfecting, and so on and so on.  I swear I am literally fidgeting in my chair just thinking of all I need to do.  PLUS, I need to get everything ready for the baby.  I need to wash her clothes--heck I need to get her some clothes.  I need to organize her a spot in our bedroom, because that will be her bedroom too--at least until we get into the new house...the new house...don't even get me started on the new house.  AGHHHHH!!  And while I am feeling all of that "cleaning stress" I feel soooo guilty because there is Jon Kent...sweet little innocent Jon Kent.  He only has two and a half months left of being an only child.  And he doesn't even know it.  He thinks it just him and mommy and daddy.  But soon it will not just be the 3 of us...but the 4 of us.  Oh holy cow...there will be 4 of us.  I just freaked myself out.  I seriously need to calm down.  Things will be OK...  I am going to keep telling myself that....

This is what I have been up to...

It's been awhile hasn't it!?!  Sorry!!  I have just been busier than usual I guess.

Thursday Kent and I finished most of the consignment stuff.  I got all the clothes hung and priced.  Kent put them in the car and got them ready to take to the sale.  We also went over to my parent's Thursday and since we were on that side of town we took Jon Kent to see my grandmother, Jon Kent's great grandmother.

Friday Kent and I completely finished all the consignment stuff.  Then we took Jon Kent back over to my parent's to stay with them until we got back.  We took the clothes and things up to the consignment sale and then we went out and ate at Ruby Tuesdays.  That was our "date night" for the month...woohoo!  LOL.  We also went by Lowes and looked at gutters...now THAT was romantic...LOL.

Saturday is cleaning day (for now) at the O____'s house.  So I dusted, vaccuumed, swept, windexed, scrubed any and every surface to this house.  And just so he doesn't say anything to me later...Kent helped too.  After Kent left for work I did a little extra cleaning here and there while I listened to Auburn play football on the radio.  Then I went over to spend the rest of the evening with my daddy.  We had pizza and watched some TV.  Then we (Jon Kent, my daddy, and myself) came back to my house and waited on my momma to be dropped off from her day out.  Then it was time for Little Man's bath.

Sunday was church in the morning.  I had nursery duty.  Usually it's just Jon Kent and maybe another baby or two.  But yesterday we had 5 babies in all.  And two of those were twins.  And they are sooooo cute!!  They were born 2 months early, so they are still VERY tiny.  It was so weird holding a baby THAT small again.  They are 2 months old and weigh about 6lbs each.  They had the tiniest little diapers too.  I got to hold one of them for awhile.  And surprisingly, Jon Kent didn't seemed to upset by it.  I guess he was too busy playing with toys and getting into things to really notice.  After church, we went to Granny's for lunch.  And we all just sat around and watched the race.  Then that evening Jon Kent and I went back to church.  Kent was at work.

Today I have washed dishes and clothes, made a trip to Wal-Mart, and basically just spent time with Kent and Jon Kent.  My usual Monday routine.  I still have a load of clothes to dry and then my "work" day will be done.  Kent has already gone to work, so it will be just Jon Kent and me for the rest of the day.  Although we will probably end up over at my parent's house.  We usually do.

Well I guess I better go.

Done...almost

OK, I have priced all of Jon Kent's clothes.  Yes, it took me 3 days to do it--hush up!  Anyway, now I have to put all these clothes on hangers.  Not to mention I have to figure a way to price and hang bibs, hats, and socks.  I have been putting all those off because it seems to me that it is going to be hard to do.  They have a certain "way" that they want it done and quite frankly it's not easy.  But I will do it anyway.  Might bring in an extra dollar or two--you never know!  I also have some other baby items to price and get ready to take.  Although I don't know how I am going to price them.  They can't be "pinned" like the clothes are.  I'll figure something out I guess.

A friend of mine brought over a lot of little girl clothes for me to go through.  And let me just tell you, little girl clothes are TONS more fun than little boy clothes.  I got excited just going through the clothes.  Such cuter clothes!!!  I'm really excited now to go and buy some stuff of my own for Zoey.  I can't wait to get out there and go through all the pink and purple clothes.  Woohoo!!

Well, I better get back to my "work".  I just thought I would update yall on my progress.  Talk with yall later!!

Tuesday, September 13, 2005

I am still sorting, pricing, and hanging all of Jon Kent's consignment clothes.  It is a much longer process than I thought it would be.  Hopefully it will pay off.  I am just about done with his 0-3 months pile.  Only 3 or 4 more piles to go through...

So this may sound silly but I bought some new shampoo and conditioner the other day.  I tried it out last night and it smells SO good!!  I was walking around all day sniffing my hair!  I'm pretty excited about it...lol.  It's so hard for me to find a new shampoo and conditioner and actually like it.  I know that once I find one I should just stick to that one, but after awhile I can't really smell it anymore.  So that's when I know it's time for a change.  The new shampoo and conditioner is made by Pantene Pro-V.  I forgot the exact "kind" it is.  It's "New" and in the green bottle...lol.

Well, I have wasted enough time.  I need to fold some clothes and get back to my consignment stuff.  Talk with yall later.

Consignment dealings...

I am putting some of Jon Kent's old clothes into a consignment sale at the end of the month.  In order for me to be one of the first ones in to shop I have to have my stuff there by September 16th which is this Friday.  I figured it wouldn't take me long to get all the stuff together, but boy was I wrong.  It took me an hour and a half JUST to go through his clothes.  I haven't even started hanging, pricing, or arranging them by size yet.  Can we say "procrastinator"?  I hope it gets done in time.  I actually have until next Monday to get my things in and I would still be able to shop the first day, but it would only be for like 2 hours.  And that wouldn't be worth it to me.  So we'll see how it goes.  I hope to get some pricing done tonight after Jon Kent goes to bed.

Well, I am off.  I'll talk with yall later!  I hope you had a great Monday!

7 Celebrity Crushes  (in no order)

I actually don't have any.  I only crush on my husband.  Plus, the celebrities that we have today are money hungry little men who have HUGE egos...not my cup of tea, thanks!

7 People I Want To Do This

Doesn't matter...anyone who wants to I guess.

FALL-ing into Saturday

I'm hoping to be able to get this whole entry in before my LM (little man) gets home.  He spent the night at my parent's last night.  If not, I'll finish up during a nap or while he is playing with his daddy...

I can't believe that it is starting to feel like fall already.  For the past week or so, it has felt so good in the morning time.  I have even been putting my windows up.  Which usually doesn't happen until at least mid October.  I am soaking it all up while it lasts.  Because I know Alabama's weather too well...it strings you along and makes you think fall is really here to stay and then BAM it's in the 90s again.  Oh well...I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

It is only 11:30am and I have already done so much--with the help of my husband of course.  I've got homemade beef stew in the crock pot cooking, I've cleaned my whole house (thanks to the wonderful help of my husband), and I have even gotten Jon Kent's baby books up to date.  I am currently washing clothes (which reminds me I have a load in the dryer that needs to be folded as soon as I get done with this), and I still need to go through Jon Kent's old clothes from last year.  I am putting them in a consignment sale at the end of the month.  So, I've done a lot so far today.  I think I'll enjoy the rest of the day relaxing and playing with my little man.

Who by the way has another tooth cutting through.  This is number 5 for him.  It's his top, left, front tooth.  The other top one is trying to break through, but hasn't yet.  He actually has done well with those two teeth trying to break through.  Usually we have about a week of no sleep or at least not good sleep, but thankfully with these he has pretty much stuck to his regular schedule.  I am hoping he keeps it up.  He has been doing so well with his naps and sleeping and eating.  I'm hoping we have finally hit our groove.  I can't believe in 5 days he will be 10 months old.  Only 2 more months and he will be the big ONE!  It's amazing how one he hit 6 months old, the time just flew!  He is learning so much and growing like a weed.  I can't believe I have been a mommy for almost a year now.  And to think in two and half more months we will be doing it all over again!

Speaking of which.  I had another OB appointment yesterday.  It was for glucose testing and a regular 28 week check up.  I don't mind the glucose testing.  That drink that they give is pretty good if you ask me.  I know a lot of people don't like it, but I am a weird one I guess.  Anyway, I gained 9 pounds (yes you read that right) and my blood pressure was fine.  My iron is still low but it isn't as low so they aren't too worried about that.  My doctor (who is a man) informed me that I would lose my "girlish figure" if I keep up my weight gain.  I told him 1) that I have only gained 15 pounds so far for my whole pregnancy and that the norm is 18 at this point and 2) that I lost my "girlish figure" a long time ago when I got pregnant after only giving birth 3 months prior.  So there!  Anyway, Zoey is doing great.  Her heartbeat with 132bpm and she was kicking and punching all day yesterday.  I guess she liked that glucose drink too!!  I go back in 4 weeks for my 32 week check up and after that I go every 2 weeks.  So we are getting closer to the end!

Well little man just drove up with my parents so I will end this here!  Talk with yall later!  Have a great weekend!!

Unusually excited

You can call me silly or crazy or whatever.  I don't care.  I am excited.  Kent is going to be off for two whole days!  Wooooohooooo!!  See, this week Kent was supposed to be off for vacation.  We were supposed to go to Florida for the week with his family.  But since we are building a house and having another baby we decided that the money towards the vacation could be spent on something more productive.  So, Kent decided to just go into work and save his days off.  That way when the baby comes, he can take off longer.  Anyway, since I *know* that he could be off, I have been a little sad because I want him home.  That's why I am so unusually excited about him being off for the next two days.  I don't have ANYthing planned (I usually clean on his days off).  That way if we want to go and do some thing we can just get up and go.  I know he has some plans of his own...tuning up his car and what not.  But besides that, nothing.  So I'm hoping we can go to the park in the county over and take Jon Kent.  It's a huge park with a lake and ducks and plenty of things to do.  We'll see what Kent feels like doing though.  Since it is *his* time off.

Anyway, that is all for now.  I posted a few pictures for your enjoyment.  I hope you get a kick out of the first one...lol.  AND today I am 28 weeks pregnant.  Only 12 more to go!

Still thinking up a subject

I was told that I needed to update my journal.  But honestly there is nothing to really update on.  My life has been fairly boring.  A few *personal* issues going on, but I won't bore you with the details.  It will pan out on it's own eventually...

The surveyor came out a day early (today) and got all the surveying and perk testing done.  Hopefully it won't be long now until we start breaking ground on our house.  I'm excited, but a little overwhelmed at the same time.  It's a lot to take on.  Making decisions about what all goes into it.  Not to mention being a mommy to a 9 month old and pregnant.  It's a lot.  But once it's all done it will be worth it to be in a house that is big enough for all of us.

Well there is the update.  Pretty interesting isn't it!?!?!  Hopefully my life will perk up here soon.  Until then....

Surveying

We got our land surveyed this morning.  Kent and I both thought that the man was just going to survey the land that we wanted and that would be it.  But being that Kent's grandfather was there he wanted ALL his land surveyed.  That way we would know exactly where all the corners were, plus Kent's dad wanted to add a piece of land to his deed.  So ANYWAY...we went out searching for the little orange flags.  I tagged along not thinking it would be THAT much walking.  Boy was I wrong.  I only walked half of the way with them.  I gave up after that.  I knew if I kept on going I would throw myself into labor for sure.  My back is already hurting right now from walking that much.  It was up hill and down hill.  Around rocks and through trees.  I have decided that if I am ever overdue with Zoey that I will just walk our property in the woods and that should do the trick.  I think I had Kent worried because he kept looking over his shoulder...or maybe he was just checking on Sandy (Kent's parent's dog).  He tagged along with us too, but stayed behind with me when I decided enough was enough.  LOL  The surveyor is supposed to come back Wednesday and do all the measuring and some perk testing as well.  Hopefully the construction of the foundation will start in about 2-3 weeks.  We'll see.  I am ready to get it started.  Well, I am gone.  Yall have a safe Labor Day weekend!!
