Where shall I begin...

We took Jon Kent to his regular pediatrician yesterday to get a check up for his ears.  We have been fighting ear infections for months now...  Anywho, so we go yesterday and Jon Kent still has some fluid in *one* ear.  Remember that one ear...  So the doctor refers us to an ENT specialist.  We get an appointment for today.  The ENT takes a look at his ears and he has fluid in *both* ears.  *sigh*  He said that there was even fluid behind his ear drum.  And it was *JELL-O* like.  Ewwww!  He said that is why Jon Kent's ears haven't been healing because the fluid was so thick that it couldn't drain.  So the answer was....tubes.  We have to go July 8th and get tubes put in his ears.  Which wasn't *as* bad as I thought it could have been.  They used to put the babies totally under with an IV and it would take like 30 minutes or so to do the whole surgery.  Now, they just put the mask over them to relax the baby so they don't wiggle around.  And it takes about 5-10 minutes.  So it's still nerve racking but not as much.  So keep our little man in your prayers.  I still don't like the idea of someone taking my baby away from me and doing ANYTHING to him.  <pout>

Today we also went house shopping.  We are looking into building a new house!  *****WOOHOO*****  I am soooo looking forward to building a new house and having ROOM to put all our STUFF!  We have found a floor plan that we really like.  We are just checking out all our options before settling on a plan of action.  I'll keep yall updated!!

Well, I need to jet.  I have a load of clothes in the dryer to fold and another load in the washer that needs to be dried.  Have a great night everyone!!

Jon Kent's Dedication

Today we had Jon Kent's baby dedication at church.  It went really well.  I wasn't sure how Jon Kent was going to act because he/we didn't get a lot of sleep the night before.  But he did very well.  Our pastor (Bro. Don) just asked Kent and I a series of questions like would we pray for our son, raise our son in church, teach our son the things of God, etc.  And we answered by saying we would.  Then he asked the church generally the same questions.  Anyway, Bro. Don then asked to hold Jon Kent so that he could pray over him.  Now, we never know if Jon Kent will freak out when someone else holds him, so I was holding my breath.  But surprisingly enough Jon Kent did very well.  In fact, the whole time Bro. Don was praying for Jon Kent, Jon Kent had his hand in Bro. Don's mouth.  It was really cute and funny.  After Jon Kent was dedicated the church gave us a "Baby Bible" for Jon Kent, a letter for Jon Kent to open after he is saved (accepts Jesus Christ to be his Savior and Lord), a framed certificate of when he was dedicated, and then a "My First Bible".  The whole thing went really well.  It was a day that I will always remember!!

A lot to update on

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday.  We were like 20 minutes late for the appointment.  To which Kent teased me for the next *2 hours* that the reason we were having to wait so long(cause we usually don't) is because *I* was being punished for arriving to my appointment late.  PUHLEEEESE!!  *He* was the one driving!!  Anywho, I gained 2 pounds...still have 3 more before I am where I started when I first became pregnant.  Urine was fine, blood pressure was fine, and baby's heartbeat was fine (160bpm).  While the doctor was listening for the heartbeat the baby kicked the monitor.  The doctor said, "oh we have an active one!".  If she only knew Jon Kent...whew!  I also got to set up my *find out the sex* ultrasound!!  It's set for July 15th at 9am!  Can't wait!!

Kent and I are currently looking for a new home.  Building or buying is still up in the air, but at least we are heading in that direction.  It will be nice to have a bigger place to spread out in.  We are currently in a 2 bedroom/1 bath house...tiny house.  So here's hoping for a new place soon!!

Kent and I cleaned house today!!  Woohoo for a helpful hubby!!  He did all the *hard labor* cleaning, so I wouldn't have to.  So that was really sweet of him.  We got the whole house done.  It's so relaxing to have a clean home to sit in and watch TV.  Yeah I'm cheesy!

The baby has been moving around a lot here lately.  It even had the hiccups the other day.  It was the first time that I felt them and immediately *knew* they were the hiccups.  Jon Kent would have them but I would have to be really still to tell if they were the hiccups or him just kicking me over and over again.  I'm starting to get really excited about the new baby.  To be honest, it has taken be awhile to get excited about the baby.  I just didn't want to push Jon Kent out of his spot light.  But he will still have plenty of spot light AND a life long buddy!!  So things are getting pretty busy and exciting here lately!

Well, I need to jet.  Little man is spending the night off (at my parent's) so it's a night long night of sleeping for me!!  YEEEEHAWWWW!!

And then there were two

We have TWO teeth now!!  Woohoo!!  Sunday I was being Jon Kent's chew toy as usual and I felt his one tooth but it seemed "bigger" than usual.  So I felt around some more and sure enough there is another tooth coming in right beside his first one.  We have TWO teeth now!  It's exciting to me!!  LOL

Kent had a good Father's Day.  He got seasons one and two of "Dukes of Hazzards" and a T-shirt that says "Dad's Weekend Shirt".  On the shirt, Jon Kent put his hands and feet prints on them.  Then I put his age and that it was Father's Day 2005.  I'll have to take a picture of it sometime and share it with yall.  Anyway, Kent took the day off so we just hung out with family.  Kent played some basketball and then we all went swimming.  That Sunday morning and night we went to church as well.  It was a very good day even for me, the mommy!!

Happy Father's Day!!

Daddy,

I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day!!  I hope you like my gift.  I made it all by myself...OK, a little help from Mommy and PaPaw.  But I did all the "cute" stuff on my own.  Well, I better go before Mommy realizes I'm not in my bed.  I love you with all my itty bitty heart!

Love,

Jon Kent

Horrible, horrible, horrible mommy

My poor, poor baby.  *sigh*  He fell off the bed yesterday.  I felt horrible.  Kent and I were in the bedroom getting ready to go to town.  I had Jon Kent on the bed playing with his toys.  I had pillows ALL AROUND him.  But somehow he crawled over them and off the bed before Kent or I noticed.  We hear a "thump" and then screaming!  It was the worst sound in the world.  And it was even worse once we realized he was bleeding!  UGH!!!!!  After I got all the blood off of his face, I found that he had bit his tongue right on the tip.  It wouldn't stop bleeding either!  Kent and I both were freaking out.  I put a wet paper towel on his mouth and that seemed to help a little.  After like 15 minutes of bleeding it finally stopped and Jon Kent calmed down.  Even today I still feel horrible about it.  Kent and I both had decided that we weren't going to go to town.  But Jon Kent had calmed down and seemed fine after a little bit.  He is doing just fine now.  Can't tell he even did anything...except for when he will stick his tongue out trying to feel the cut on his tongue.  *sigh*  Is there a bad mommy couch I can go and pout on???

We have a tooth!!

Jon Kent has a tooth!  Or atleast *part* of a tooth.  It hasn't come through all the way yet.  But it's there.  I felt it the other night, it was really sharp.  Then I (against Jon Kent's will) opened his mouth and looked and sure enough there was a little white toothie coming in.  It is on the bottom.  I am so proud!  Jon Kent keeps sticking his tongue in and out feeling his tooth.  It's the cutest thing.  Although he is a bit more fussy, but that is just something that I'll have to deal with until it passes.  ::Keeps telling self that...over and over and over::

Other news, Jon Kent is 7 months old today.  Only 5 more months until he is 1 year old.  It doesn't seem like it has been that long.  I swear he just turned 6 months old last week!  This past month has FLOWN!!  Also, only 5 1/2 months until JK's little brother or sister is due.  Whew, am I going to have my hands FULL!!  It's hard to imagine!  But in a few short months, it will be my reality!!  Let the fun begin!!  =0)

Pictures and babbling

These are pictures from swimming the other day.  It was finally pretty enough to get JK out and swim.  He really had a good time.  He stayed in there longer than I thought he would.  He also got a little tan.  We put sunscreen on him but he is a bit darker now than he was.  Which is fine, as long as he didn't burn and he didn't!

Well, it's looks like hurricane season has started.  YAY!!! *not*  I love a storm every now and again.  But after last season, I think I can do without a storm every few weeks.  I know Alabama didn't see a lot of the *action* but we did get the rain and the tornados from most of them.  Ivan though we pretty much got it all.  I just hope this season isn't like last season.  Especially for those who live in Florida.

I have been fairly busy around here.  Yesterday I cleaned house.  I always feel so good after a good house cleaning.  The house smells great, everything is in it's place, and it just seems cozier.  Come to my house today and well...you wouldn't know it had been cleaned.  *sigh*  Oh well.  Atleast my carpets are still clean and even have the vaccuum lines in them!!

Well, that is all for now.  My stomach is growling!  Yall be good and have a great weekend!

MORE pictures and my dentist update

The pictures are of Jon Kent in his new pool.  We haven't been able to get it outside yet to fill it with water.  It has been thunder storming here the last few days.  But I decided to go ahead and blow it up and see if he would like sitting in it.  Which he does.  He was so cute in it.  The last picture him and his daddy were washing clothes.  Can you tell how *excited* he was!?!!?!?  LOL

My dentist appointment went fairly well.  They are no where near the type of dentists I am used to.  I told Kent that I didn't think the lady even flossed all my teeth!!  And when she went to clean them, it was almost like she just went over them and didn't really "clean" them.  From the time I sat down in the chair until the time I was back in my car, I would say 20 minutes had passed!  Kent said I am complaining too much, but if I am going to get my teeth cleaned I want them CLEAN!!  Good news is no cavities!  So that was surprising!!

Well, there are clothes that need to be folded.  So, yall enjoy the pictures and I'll talk with yall later!

Jon Kent, dentist, and hair cut

Jon Kent has been one busy little guy the past few days.  He has learned MANY new things.  Some better than others...  He found his penis.  ::shakes head::  Kent found it very funny, while I on the other hand am not quite as excited.  I knew it was coming, but this soon!?!?!?  Next thing he'll be at church with his hands down his diaper.  *sigh*  Another one of his *milestones* is that he is *trying* to crawl.  He will get up on all fours and rock.  Then he'll push himself forward with his knees but doesn't move his hands, so he does a nice little head dive into the carpet.  Can you say "carpet burn?!?!"  But he is really growing and learning.  I couldn't be prouder!

Tomorrow is the dentist.  YIPIEEEEE!  Not.  I haven't been in two years (slaps self of the hand) and quite frankly I am not looking forward to it.  I know I will have some cavities.  Which will stink.  Oh and the lovely cleaning that I will be given.  I can barely brush my own teeth without gagging, what am I gonna do when some lady has her whole arms down my throat!?!?  Oh well, it must be done.

Tomorrow I also have an appointment for a hair cut.  Which it is much needed.  I am also having a touch up for my coloring...which is VERY much needed!  I had to wait a little longer to get out of my first trimester before having my color touched up.  So I have been sporting a stylish ponytail for the last week or two.  Hopefully tomorrow it will be much better!

Well, Jon Kent is out of bottles so I need to get to making those.  Yall enjoy the pictures!

Some things on my mind

If you don't have a lot of time, I would say just skip this entry because it's more for me to clear my mind than to really update or anything like that.

I'm kind of getting worried about the baby (#2 that is).  I guess the fact that I'm losing weight and not gaining is starting to worry me a little bit.  I asked Kent today if I looked too skinny and he said yes.  Which he has never said before (not that he says I'm fat, but he just doesn't say things like that to me).  I'm not even beginning to show and this is my #2 baby.  The doctor told me that by the middle of May that I should be showing.  Well here it is June and nothing.  I know it has a lot to do with not being able to eat a whole lot.  But I'm still worried that if I don't eat than the baby is going to suffer for it.  The doctor told me to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day.  Like that's going to happen.  I barely get 3 meals in a day.  I do have a 6 month old who DEMANDS a lot of my time.  I just don't know what to do.  Hopefully I will be able to feel the baby move soon.  That will put my mind to ease.

Kent and I are currently waiting to hear from Kent's job to see if he got another job that he applied for.  We are really hoping he gets it.  It means more $$$ down the road but what I would be most excited about is the "normal" hours.  He would work 7:30am-4pm and be off Saturdays and Sundays.  It would be so nice to get back to a normal schedule.  Because right now I feel like we don't get to do a lot of "family" things with other family members and what not.  Plus, he would be home at night which would be awesome.  I hate having to be here alone.  Doing the whole night time schedule alone is hard.  The heavier Jon Kent gets the harder it gets.  Let's hope Kent gets that job!

Well those are my thoughts for now.  I'll talk with yall later!
