2005 in Review

Wow!  Another year has come and gone.  I can not believe that today is the last day of 2005.  SO much has happened over the year!

Jon Kent has grown from an infant into a baby.  He has 8 teeth with more just waiting to pop out.  He weighs 25 pounds and is 31 inches long.  He eats "big boy" food, only takes one bottle now, can say certain words, and has found his own personality.  He also went from being the only child to being a big brother.

During this year, we found out we would be expecting another baby.  We were shocked, scared, and overwhelmed with the idea of having two kids under the age of one.  We found out that the little surprise would be a girl.  Which I was thrilled about because it meant that if we wanted it to be, that our family was complete.

Zoey was born on December 2, 2005 at 7:07am.  She weighed 6lbs and 13ozs.  She was 21 inches long.  Since her birth she has gained almost 2 pounds.  She has started to be a bit more alert and she has her periods of staying awake longer.  She sleeps fairly well at night and is content as long as you are holding her or she is in a place where she "thinks" she is being held.  Zoey has, for now, completed our family.

I don't know what 2006 holds for my life.  But I do know that as long as I have my family and friends to support me, that I can handle anything.  Well, another positive pregnancy test might do me in, but other than that I can handle anything.

Some of my New Year's resolutions are:

1) Losing weight.  I want to get down to where I was before I had Jon Kent.

2) To enjoy the moment at hand and not worry so much about the what if's of life.

3) To talk more with my family and get closer to them.

4) To feel accomplished as a mother and wife.  And not let what society thinks blur what I know in my heart is right.

5) To NOT get pregnant!

Well, good-bye 2005.  It was quite an eventful year!

Here are the rules; the first player of this game starts with the topic. Five weird habits of yourself and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals. Don’t forget to leave a comment in their blog or journal that says “You are tagged” (assuming they take comments) and tell them to read yours.

1) I bite the inside of my lower lip.  I guess it's a nervous type habit.

2) I always have to brush my teeth before going to bed.  I can't sleep if my teeth aren't brushed.

3) Before having two kids, my legs would have to be shaved EVERYDAY.  I would drive me nuts if they weren't.  Now, I can go about 2-3 days without caring.  I guess that's what having kids will do.

4) I organize drawers all the time.  I can't stand for drawers to get messy and unorganized.  I've been slacking here lately, but once I get into a good routine, all the kids' drawers are getting organized.  I hate to put clean clothes into messy drawers.

5) My bed has to be made before I feel like my day can start.  If a day goes by where the bed isn't made, I feel like that whole day was wasted.

Umm...I am seeing a pattern where almost all my weird habits have to do with cleaning of some sort or being neat...umm can we say OCD???

Zoey is 4 weeks old

Yesterday afternoon we got a call from the pediatrician's office asking us to call them back because some blood work of Zoey's came back abnormal.  So we call them back and they tell us that the blood they sent off for her state screening came back with elevated levels of amino acids.  So we took her in today to get more blood taken.  The results won't be back for about two weeks.  I don't know what any of this means, because we didn't see a doctor and the nurse couldn't really tell us anything.  She said that if they still come back abnormal that more than likely all we would have to do is change her diet.  Umm...I AM her diet.  So that made me feel really great...  Hopefully we will know something soon.   Zoey also has ANOTHER doctor's appt. Monday.  She will be a month old then.  We are going for her one month appt. and a shot.  I'm hoping everything checks out fine and that she is gaining weight and growing like a little weed.   Well, tomorrow is the last day of 2005.  I'm hoping to get in an entry summing up the year in before the clock strikes midnight.  Until then, enjoy the pictures.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!!  I hope you all had a very happy day surrounded by friends and family!!

Today was a great day.  We got Jon Kent up at 6:30am and showed him all his new toys.  He LOVES his 4-wheeler.  He still doesn't quite know how to keep it going.  He pushes the power button over and over again, so he jerks around while riding it.  Everyone now and then he will hold his finger on the button long enough to run into a wall.  Zoey slept through Christmas.  I just left her in the bed this morning and I think she slept in until about 8am.  Next year will be better for her.  We all had a great Christmas with lots of goodies.

Tomorrow we are hitting the sales!  Well, not really.  We are going to Lowes and Sears to look at appliances.  We are hoping to find some good deals on them.  My parents are "covering the bill" for them, so we are wanting to find a good deal for them.  But like my daddy said, don't get a poor quality appliance just because you are trying to save a little money.  YES SIR!!  LOL  In all seriousness, I am hoping we can get some nice stuff, but at "after Christmas" prices.  We'll see!

Well folks...  Another Christmas has come and gone.  On to 2006!!

Christmas Eve

Tonight we had Christmas Eve with my parents and my mom's side of the family.  It was a good time.  We ate, told stories from the good ole days, and exchanged gifts.  Jon Kent racked up with all the gifts that he got and Zoey didn't do too badly either.  I believe Jon Kent's favorite toy was a Wiggles guitar that he got from my brother and his girlfriend.  He kept playing it over and over and over and over and over and over again...lol.  Zoey pretty much slept through it, but that was OK.  There is always next year.  Kent and I got a lot of things as well.  Gift cards, clothes, lotions (me), etc.

We have already sat our all the gifts for the kids from Santa.  They are all nicely placed out for them to be goggled at tomorrow morning.  Although Zoey won't notice, but Jon Kent will.  We are most excited about his 4-wheeler.  We can't wait to see how he reacts to that.

Well, this Mrs. Clause is tired.  Going to bed as soon as I load all these pictures.  So yall enjoy them.

Merry Christmas Everyone!  Remember the reason for the season.  Jesus who was sent to us to die for our sins.  Don't forget the Christ in Christmas!

One down...many more to go

Last night was Christmas with Kent's family.  We had a good time.  Jon Kent and Zoey did very well in the gift department.  I took a few pictures as you can see of what they got.  Although there is still a lot they got that isn't in the pictures.  Zoey got some more clothes, a picture frame, and a figurine type thing.  Jon Kent did pretty well with unwrapping his gifts.  He didn't do so well at his birthday party over a month ago, so we weren't sure how he would do with his Christmas gifts.  But once I got them started for him, he pretty much tore the rest off himself.  He even helped with his sister's gifts.

Tonight is Christmas with my family.  We are eating around 6pm or so and then unwrapping gifts afterwards.  Then later on that night, we are exchanging gifts with my parents.  I'm looking forward to spending time with my family.

Well, yall enjoy the pictures.  Zoey is napping so I am going to take advantage of that while I can.  Talk with yall later.

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!!

Let the Christmas Activities Begin!

PreviewPreviewPreview

And so it begins.  All of the family activities for Christmas.  It starts tomorrow night with Kent's family.  We are going over to Granny and Pops' tomorrow night to exchange gifts with the O's.  There will be about 25 or so of us.  We will be eating and just spending time together.  I'm really looking forward to it.  It's Zoey's first Christmas and Jon Kent's first "real" Christmas to which he can actually enjoy things.

Anyway, Saturday night is my mom's side of the family get together.  We will be having it at my parent's house this year.  Eating supper and exchanging gifts among the kids.  After everyone leaves, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, Kent, Jon Kent, Zoey, and myself will all exchange gifts.

Then Christmas day is the Santa stuff early that morning with Jon Kent and Zoey, church at 10am, then Kent's parents, sister, brother, Kent, Jon Kent, Zoey, and myself will exchange gifts.  I don't know if we will be doing lunch at Granny's or not.  Since it is Sunday and all.  Anyway, Christmas night is my dad's side of the family's Christmas get together.  So as you can see, there will a lot going on for us in the next few days.

I'm hoping to get some good pictures of the kids and Christmas morning.  Especially since it will bea bit more active than it was last year.  Not much to document when you have a newborn asleep the whole day.  At least this year we will have a one year old AND a newborn.  It should be some fun stuff.  I'll try to update as much as possible to keep you all up to date on the on goings with the O_____ family.

Jon Kent & Zoey Doctor Visit

Jon Kent and Zoey both had an appointment today.  Jon Kent was for his one year well baby check up (yeah I know we are kind of late on that) and Zoey's was for her 2 week check up and another check up for her jaundice.  Jon Kent is 25 lbs even and 31 inches long.  He got two shots and we declined the flu shot.  Zoey is 8 lbs 8 oz (momma's milk is doing wonders...she was 6 lbs 13 oz 17 days ago...) and is 20.5 inches long...she shrunk half an inch...lol.  Both are doing wonderfully.

We went to Rooms to Go today with Kent's grandparents to look for Jon Kent a bedroom suit for the new house.  Since Zoey will be taking Jon Kent's once she is a bit older.  We found one and ordered it today.  They are going to deliver it once we get moved into the new house.  I am so excited.  Hopefully he will sleep in it.  We still have to get him some rails so that he doesn't fall off the bed during the night.  Because he is one wild sleeper.  I woke up once during the night (he has been sleeping with us some since Zoey was born...I guess he just needs that extra attention right now) and he was laying in between Kent and me and his feet were next to my head and his head was down by my hips.  He is one wild little sleeper!!  Anyway, once we get him into his own "big boy" bed, he is going to have to stay there.

I'm hoping to get some more pictures of Jon Kent and Zoey posted soon.  Zoey has already changed so much, so I want yall to see how my little piglet is growing.  Hopefully that will get done soon.  Until then, I'll talk with yall later!

Saturday Ramblings

I can't believe another Saturday has come and gone.  Only one more Saturday and it will be Christmas!  I can't believe it.  This month has really flown by!  I guess it has a lot to do with having a newborn in the house.  She tends to keep me busy.  Today we had a girls day in.  Kent and Jon Kent went up to Kent's parent's house.  We are building our house next to theirs and Kent was up there building a "house" for the well pump.  They were up there all day, so Zoey and I just stayed home.  She slept and I cleaned house.  It felt soooo good to get back into cleaning.  Sounds crazy, I know, but to just go back to something familiar and "regular" felt good.  I'm hoping to continue.  I also started my exercises again.  Which also felt pretty good.  I only worked out for about 15-20 minutes, but it was still nice to get back to exercising.  I won't be able to really do much until I go for my 6 week post partum check up, but until then I can do some workouts.  I gained 31 pounds with Zoey not to mention the 10 pounds I still had left over from Jon Kent.  So I am currently 30 pounds from where I want to be.  I have lost 19 pounds so far.  I'm hoping by May or June to be close to my goal weight.  Hopefully I will be able to reach it.  Well, I need to go.  My pillow is calling my name!  Talk with you later!

13

Today Jon Kent is 13 months old.  And today Zoey is 13 days old.  My daddy pointed that out to me last night that it would happen that way.  He is a math teacher, everything is numbers with him.  Anyway, both babes are doing great.  They both were supposed to have a doctor's appointment today, but the doctor's daughter was sick so the office called and asked if we could reschedule.  So we did.  Their new appointment is Monday @ 10:15am.  Jon Kent will have his one year shots and Zoey will be weighed, measured, and get her billiruben checked again.  Hopefully all will check out well.

Today we took the kids picture in front of the tree.  We tried yesterday, but Jon Kent wouldn't sit still for a minute so every picture we took came out blurry.  So we tried again today.  We are hoping that at least one picture comes out clear.  If not, I don't know what we will do.  Time is running out to get Christmas cards sent out.  Oh and I haven't even sent out Zoey's birth announcement.  By the time Jon Kent was a week old, I had his sent out.  I guess that is just how it goes with the 2nd child.  Poor thing.

Well, I do believe that is it for now.  Not much to really talk about.  I'm sure that will change soon.  In the next month or so, Christmas will come and go, we will hopefully be moving into the new house, and I am sure Jon Kent and Zoey will have done numerous cute things in that time frame as well.  So until then...

Tuesday

Only 12 shopping days left until Christmas!  In a lot of ways, time has really flown by.  It doesn't seem like it's almost the middle of December.  At the same time, it seems like time has just stood still.  Zoey is 11 days old and seems to be growing like a weed.  I can't wait to take her to the doctor Thursday and see how much she has gained on "momma's milk".  That was something that I was always proud of when we would take Jon Kent to the doctor.  They would say, "Oh, he gained so many ounces, whatever he is eating is agreeing with him."  I would secretly beam inside, because it was all me...lol.  That was until his reflux kicked in and it all went down hill from there, but I digress.  Zoey so far, seems to be taking her food in and keeping it in.  She has some spit ups from time to time, some larger than others.  But I think that is just when she has been a hog and has tried to eat too quickly or too much.  She's a really good baby though.  Her and her brother's personalities thus far are pretty different.  She seems more laid back.  Only crying when she is hungry or wants to be held.  She sleeps pretty good as well.  Some nights, I wake up before she does because I am so "full of milk" that it hurts.  So I end up waking her up.  One night she went almost 6 hours!  But mostly, she will wake up about every 3 hours.  Which is pretty normal for a newborn.  And since she sleeps with us, I just roll over and we go back to sleep.  During the day, I would say is a little bit harder.  Just because she doesn't like to just lay in her bed.  She has to be held or something.  Even if you put her to sleep, she will wake up about 15 minutes after being laid down.  Kind of frustrating, but I know this too shall pass eventually.

I have a lot to do today.  Or really, if I am being honest, I have a lot to do because I haven't mustard up the want to do it already.  Like clean my house for example.  It's really starting to look bad.  Toys every where, leaves that were tracked in from outside, little crumbs from who knows where in the carpet, dust all over the place, things just scattered and not really put up, etc.  It's driving me crazy.  No one else seems to notice.  And at the moment,I am just trying to figure out a routine or schedule that will fit in our lives.  Which is hard to do with a newborn.  But I guess it will get figured out.

Well, I better go.  Zoey has a dirty diaper and these clothes aren't going to fold themselves...although it would be nice if they would.  Later!

Is it Saturday?

All of my days have been running together lately.  I guess it's because Kent is off of work.  I seriously have to think about what day it is almost everyday.  I guess I'm already starting to lose my mind, and my kids are even teenagers yet!  ACK!!

Kent and I went out on a little date last night.  My parents came over and kept the babes for us.  We just went to the mall and finished up our Christmas shopping and then went out and ate.  It was nice having one and one time with my husband again.  He is truly a wonderful husband and father.  I am truly blessed to have him as my partner.  I know a lot of women out there that have to beg their husbands to feed, change, bathe, dress, etc. their kids, and my just does it.  He is really something special!

Tonight is the local Christmas parade for my town.  We are going.  Jon Kent was a tiny little thing last year, so we didn't venture out and take him.  We really saw it pointless to take a newborn to the parade just to sit in the car with him.  However, Zoey will be going with us this year.  And we will be in the car...lol.  But Jon Kent and his daddy will be out checking out all of the floats.  I am actually looking forward to it.  Even though I will be in the car, it will still be a chance to get out and about for an hour or so.  Which is always a good thing when you are in the house all day long.

Well, I guess I better go.  Zoey is napping and the boys are up at the new house doing "stuff".  So while I have the chance, I think I will clean the house.  It truly needs it!  I'll talk with yall later.  Oh, and enjoy the pictures!

Just updating

Today was a fairly busy day.  We took the babes to get their pictures taken with Santa.  Jon Kent surprisingly did very well.  He started to cry, but once the photographer started playing peek-a-boo with him, he smiled.  Zoey slept.  The next stop was to have actual Christmas pictures taken.  We went to Sears.  At first the lady seemed seriously rude because we didn't have an appointment.  We were walk-ins.  But honestly, who can make an appointment when you have a one year old and a newborn?  Their routines are so unpredictable at this point that it would be ridiculous to try and guess when a good time to take pictures would be.  Anyway, once we got back there to start taking the pictures, the lady lightened up and we actually got really good pictures from it.  And another bonus, was when we went to pay for the pictures, the lady saw Kent's jacket (Federal Prison) and asked if he was in the military.  He said no, but that he did work for the Department of Justice.  She said, well that counts.  As long as it was for the government.  So we got $23 taken off our total!  I was happy about that!!  After taking pictures, we went and pretty much finished up our Christmas shopping.  We only have one person left to buy for and that is my Daddy.  We would probably have gotten his, but Zoey got hungry.  So we just headed back to the car so that I could feed her.  Once we got home, we went and looked at the progress on the house.  We have walls!!  We were really surprised at how quickly they got them up.  They still have to come in and mud the walls, but everything else is up.  Even the ceiling!  I am beyond happy about that!  We are seriously thinking that in about a month or a month and half, we will be in our new home.  I for one will be glad to be done with it all.  Once we are moved in, maybe our lives can settle down a bit.  Being pregnant, having a baby, building a house, and moving into that house all within a year can be tiring on a girl!  Y'know?!?!  Anyway, there is my update for today.  Enjoy the pictures of the house.

Zoey Taylor's Birth Story

November 30th

I had a regular doctor's appointment that day, but I didn't make it.  All the night before and that morning I was having contractions.  They were pretty regular.  We went in and saw the OB and she told me I was in early labor and that things would slow down, then get regular, then slow down again, and then get regular and probably stay regular.  At that time I was almost 2cm dilated.  So we went home.

December 1st

Just like the night before, I was up most of it with contractions.  It was horrible.  For almost 3 hours I would have contractions.  I tried every position trying to get comfortable or make the contractions just a little bit easier to get through.  Finally at 6am that morning I told Kent that I was going to take a hot shower and get cleaned up just in case this was it.  So I did.  Sure enough, my contractions completely stopped.  So I just got in the bed and slept most of the day.  Thankfully Kent's Granny was sweet enough to keep Jon Kent for me.  I was exhausted!  That night around 5pm or so the contractions started up again.  Except this time they weren't coming as close, but when they came---boy did they come!  Around 8pm or so I told Kent that I just couldn't take them anymore.  I hopped in the bath thinking it would just stop them again.  I was just wanting to get some relief!  I took a hot bath and when I got out I thought I was feeling better.  Well, around 9:30pm they started up again and all I could do was cry.  I didn't want to go through another night like my last two.  I told Kent that I was going to call the hospital and see if I needed to come in.  But I just went to bed crying instead.  I was at my breaking point with the pain.  Kent called the hospital for me and I ended up talking to a nurse.  She told us to come on in.  We got there about 10:30pm and they hooked me up the monitors.  The nurse checked me and I was at 4-5cm dilated.  She said that they were going to get me a room and admit me.  Before getting me a room she checked me about 45 minutes later and I was 7cm dilated.  Kent and I both freaked!  Kent started calling our parents telling them to get there soon that the nurse said we were going to have a baby by 3am!  The nurse finally gets me into a room and I was still having contractions.

December 2, 2005

The contractions were coming about every 6 minutes.  Kent looked at the monitor and said one contraction was in the 90s out of 100.  It HURT but I was able to breathe through it.  So the nurse asked if I wanted an epidural.  Uh, duh!  YES!  So I while getting one they were taking my blood pressure and it was getting kind of high.  The nurse asked if I was nervous and I was like..."yeaahhhh".  I mean come on---a huge needle is in my back and I could feel it!  So, after a few minutes, the epi took and we were good to go.  Although I could still tell when I was having a contraction.  So the nurse calls in for a boost for my epi.  Once I got that, I couldn't feel a thing!  Well, after the epi my contractions completely stopped.  This was around 2:30am.  So the nurse told me she was going to let me rest and then if my contractions hadn't started back up by 5am they would start the pitocin.  So, I went to sleep.  5am rolls around and they start the pit.  6:15am the doctor comes in and breaks my water.  7am I start pushing.  7:07am Zoey Taylor is born.  6lbs 13oz and 21 inches long.  She came into this world "sunny side up" with her cord around her neck twice.  The doctor and nurses were surprised that I pushed her out that quickly with her being face up like she was.  When she came out, she barely cried.  She looks JUST like her brother when he was first born.

While in the hospital, Zoey got jaundice and we had to put her in the billibed.  It was horrible.  We have had to go to the doctor twice since being home to get her blood drawn.  Her numbers are still up but not as high so we don't have to put her in the bed.  But we are having to keep an eye on her and make sure her color doesn't get worse.  Besides that, everything else seems to be going well.  She sleeps fairly well although she has a stuffy nose so that tends to bother her more at night than any other time of the day.  But her first night home, she only woke up twice and one of those times I had to wake her up.  I'm not going to lie, it's been hard at times.  It's A LOT of work to have two under 13 months.  But Jon Kent has really been good.  He doesn't really notice her too much and he hasn't seemed jealous of her when I am holding her.  He gives her kisses on the top of her head and tries to poke at her nose.  He smiles when he first sees her in the morning.  It's cute.  Well, there is the story.  Sorry it took me so long.  Hopefully in a few more weeks I will get back to more of a routine.  Until then, I'm not promising much!  LOL

Birth story to come

Sorry about not updating sooner.  But I am sure yall understand.  There is just a lot going on with having two babies now...whew!  It's been hard at times and easier than expected at others.  I will try and type up my birth story soon.  Talk with yall later!

It's me again

::::::::Bangs head against computer:::::::::::::

Starting at 3:10am I started having contractions again.  They came roughly 5 minutes apart.  Some would be 7 or 8 minutes and like 2 came back to back.  Almost 2 hours later, I do believe they have started to slack off again.  I have had 20 contractions in the last 2 hours.  Some pretty painful, others were not so bad.  I am just really exhausted though.  The lack of sleep plus the pain are starting to wear on me.  Hopefully some thing will happen soon.  If not, I am going to rip my uterus out!

Here's the deal

I'm in labor....   Just really early labor.  I went in today and was 1.5cm dilated, 50% effaced, and at a -2 station.  Well, 2 hours later, I was right under 2cm, still 50% effaced, and Zoey dropped down to a -1 station.  The doctor that I had today was WONDERFUL.  She is sooo much better than the "guy" OB I usually have.  Anyway, my contractions are doing something, just not very quickly.  The doctor checked me and told me that I could go home.  She said that she figures I will go into full blown labor in no more than 3 days.  But if I don't, I have an induction scheduled for Monday morning at 5am.  On a day that she will be on call.  Kent said, "She really wants to be the one who delivers with you!".  Which is fine with me!  Anyway, that will make me 40 weeks and 5 days pregnant.  So, it looks like I will be having a December baby.    Oh, the contractions have slowed down (figures).  I am having about 2 contractions now every hour.  They gave me some NASTY and I do mean NASTY stuff right before leaving the hospital.  It helped to relax me because I hadn't been able to sleep.  So when I got home, I took about an hour and a half nap.  I am feeling a lot better now.  Just wish I was able to stay and have Zoey.  Oh well...there is always December!

Yeah, I am up at this ungodly hour

I have been awake since roughly 1am.  I started having contractions late last night.  I figured I would still be able to sleep.  But laying down just makes the contractions worse.  It doesn't help that most of the pain from them are in my back.  They are currently coming every 7-10 minutes.  I can still breathe through them (well most of them), so I know I still have some time.  I am going to call my OB once his office opens at 8am.  I woke Kent up around 1:30am or so and told him that I didn't think he would be going into work today.  But we will see.  Anyway, there is my update.  This may be my last one for awhile, so I'll talk with yall later!!

Due Date Eve

                               Preview

Here I sit, the day before Zoey's due date.  I have had numerous phone calls and emails already asking if I thought today would be the day.  No answer is simply, "no".  I honestly believe that Zoey will be a December baby.  Which in a lot of ways will be nice.  No sharing the same month with her brother for a birthday, her birth stone won't be an ugly orange, she will get birthday presents one week and turn around and get Christmas presents like 3 weeks later (unless people are cheap and try and wrap one present for both events), she will be one of the first people in her class to be able to drive.  I would list the cons of her being born in December, but I am trying to stay positive here.

ANYWAY...

Jon Kent and I went to Wal-Mart earlier to pick up his pictures we had taken for his 1 year Birthday.  But when I got there the lady was taking some pictures, so I figured I would shop around and see if I could pick up some more Christmas gifts.  I did get Jon Kent and Zoey some thing.  And I FINALLY found some bassinet sheets.  So hopefully I can get those washed and put in the bassinet soon.  I got Jon Kent some bath toys and Zoey some carseat toys.  After checking out, I was going to go grab the pictures and leave.  But when I went to get them the lady had put up a sign saying she would be back in like 15 minutes.  So, we left.  I figured we could go back by there tonight some time since we are going to be in town anyway at Kent's little brother's basketball game.

Well, I guess I better go.  I have housework to do.  Talk with yall later!

Two days until my due date.  Who would have thought that I would actually still be pregnant right now?  I know I for one didn't think I would be.  I, from the beginning, said the 23rd of November.  Here it is the 28th.  And to say I am miserable, would be an understatement.  I know though there is a reason why she hasn't come yet.  But it still doesn't help with me being uncomfortable most of the day.  This big ole belly is getting in the way of EVERYTHING!  Today I was folding clothes and finally just had to sit back and take a breath, because I was squishing Zoey to the point to where I couldn't breathe.  Oh well.  With each day that passes, it looks more like I will be having a December baby...

Speaking of December...  Here it is 3 days away from December and we are under a Tornado watch.  It's in the 70's here currently and storming.  What is up with that?  Thankfully though, this is just a one day event.  After this line of storms blow through the temp. will go back into the 50's!!  I just hope it doesn't make us all sick in the process.

I've got a lot of my Christmas shopping done.  Still have a lot to do though, but at least there are about 5 people that I can completely take off my list.  And a lot of the other people on my list I know what I am getting them, just have to find it first.  I know one of the things I am getting Kent...because he told me what he wanted.  I am still going to get him some thing else that is a surprise and maybe some thing to go into his stocking.  I had a lot of fun though shopping for everyone's present.  And even more fun wrapping them.  I absolutely love to wrap presents under the tree while listening to Christmas music!!  WONDERFUL!!

Well, I better get going.  I still have a few things to do before Kent gets home.  I will talk with yall later!

The day after

Whew, I am STILL feeling stuffed from yesterday!  LOL  All the food was good.  And I am sure I put on a pound or two...or three....OK...probably 15.  But I'm eating for TWO!  At least that was my excuse.

Today was supposed to be a Christmas shopping day, but things just didn't work out.  So instead of shopping I washed clothes, cleaned up the house, and got some more things done in preparation of Zoey's arrival.  Kent went to Lowes and got insulation to go into the new house.  Pretty exciting day, huh.  I really do need to get some of my Christmas shopping done though.  I have currently purchased ZERO things.  Yes, that is right, ZERO.  And Zoey is due any day now.  In fact, she is acting like she wants to come tonight....

It's nothing regular.  Just hurting more than usual.  And I am VERY uncomfortable.  I'll find a comfortable spot and then 5 minutes later I am moving again in search of another comfortable position.  Maybe she will be here soon.  I hope so.  Although her daddy said that the 30th would still be a better date.  Uh yeah, and he isn't the one carrying a watermelon between his legs either.  LOL  But whenever she is ready she will come.  And I am surprisingly fine with that.  Just as long she is healthy.

In other news, the house is coming alone pretty well!  They finished the siding (I think) today.  Which it turned out great!  I was worried because when we were picking out the color it's hard to tell what it will look like on the WHOLE house when all you are looking at is a little 4 X 4 square...lol.  But I really do like the color.  Kent, my daddy, Kent's daddy, and Kent's grandfather are putting in the insulation tomorrow.  Then the dry wall people are supposed to come Monday and start on the walls.  They have all the electrical and plumbing done.  They even put in our shower/tubs.  So, it looks like things are progressing at a pretty good rate.

Well, I do believe that is all that I have to talk about.  Enjoy the pictures of the house.

Gobble, Gobble

                                    Preview

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!  I hope you all have a safe and wonderful day!!

Plans for me today include:  Lunch at Granny's (Kent's grandmother) and then supper at my parent's house.  The lunch one is all of Kent's grandfather's side of the family.  Usually about 30 or so people.  Most of them haven't seen Jon Kent yet, so it will be fun to show my little turkey off.  The supper one is with my momma's side of the family.  I think we will have roughly 12 or so people.  I am going to be stuffed by the end of the night, not to mention a few pounds heavier.

Everyone have a great day today and if you are going to go shopping bright and early tomorrow morning have fun and don't knock too many people over!

Belly Pictures @ 39 weeks

Like my new "decorations"??  I'm pretty proud myself!!  Anyway, I got "unlazy" and took a few belly pictures of me at 39 weeks.  Enjoy!!

39 weeks

Well, I am 39 weeks today.  Woohoo.  Anyway, I went in and did all the regular stuff.  The doctor measured me and I was measuring small (36 weeks I believe) so she sent me for an ultrasound.  The tech. lady did the ultrasound and everything is just perfect.  Zoey is measuring 38.2 weeks.  My fluids are good and we got some great pictures of Zoey.  Her face was all squished...lol.  Anyway, the tech. guessimated her weighted being 7lbs. 12oz.  Which for me is a BIG baby...lol.  JK was 5lbs 8oz.  They could be wrong a pound either way.  But still....  I am still 1cm dilated and 50% effaced.  The doctor figures I am measuring small because Zoey has dropped.  But since I was measuring small the last 2 or 3 times she wanted to double checked.  I go back in one week.  The 30th of November.  Which is my due date.  I think I might make it...but not totally sure because I have been having contractions (harder ones) all day.  So we will see!  Anyway, there's my update!!  Enjoy the pictures!

House pictures

I just noticed that I haven't given yall updated pictures of the house.  Oops!!!  They have done a lot.  They have completely finished the "wood work" of the house.  They put the steps in and they have completely finished the roof.  The vinyl siding people have started the framing as well.  Next up is the electrician and plumber!

I'm in the mood...

I am in the Christmas mood!!  It usually doesn't hit me this early.  But I have been bitten by the Christmas bug.  Yesterday Kent and I put up the tree and most of the inside decorations.  We did it yesterday because Jon Kent was over at my parent's house and we knew we wouldn't really get many more free days to get it done.  Especially once little Zoey gets here.  So we went ahead and did it.  We usually wait until after Thanksgiving, but Zoey is due any day now and for all we know it could be ON Thanksgiving that she comes.  So we weren't taking any chances.  Plus, for whatever reason, I just want this Christmas to be a good one so badly.  Last year my Christmas wasn't exactly "great".  I was still recovering from having Jon Kent, Kent had to work that day, I was battling PPD, and it all and all just stunk.  Not anybody's fault exactly, it just was a rough Christmas.  And I just want this one to be better.  I know I will be recovering from having Zoey, but all the rest of that stuff that happened last year I really hope doesn't happen this year.  So, I am trying to really stay in the Christmas spirit!  Also, this year a friend of mine and myself will be out and about a little after midnight Friday morning waiting to get into a mall for all the sales.  I really can't wait!  I am looking forward to getting a chance to do the after Thanksgiving madness shopping.  I told Kent that I really didn't care if I bought anything or not.  I just wanted to go and experience it.  But the plans are still in the air, because once again, Zoey could come.  If she does, it will be fine.  I'll get to do it later at some point in my life.  I really can't believe how in the Christmas spirit I am.  It's really odd for me to be in it this early.  Oh well, I am going to enjoy every minute of it!

Kent is off tomorrow and Tuesday.  YAY!!  We have grocery shopping to do though.  And it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow.  And a cold rain at that.  Hopefully we will be able to catch a break in the rain and get the shopping done then.  I also need to clean house and do the laundry.  I am trying to stay on top of things until Zoey gets here.  That way we will have clean clothes and a clean house to come home to after we get out of the hospital.

Well, I guess that is all.  Pretty boring entry, huh?!?!  LOL...enjoy!

38th Week Appointment

I had my 38th week appointment today.  It was fairly uneventful.  I gained the pound that I had lost back.  My urine was fine and my blood pressure was back to normal.  Zoey was measuring good and had a good heartbeat as well.  He checked me.  I have dilated to a "full centimeter" and I am now 50% effaced.  He said my cervix was still high.  Which I could tell when he practically had his whole arm "in there" checking things out.  Needless to say, I am VERY sore tonight.  I feel like my bones are bruised or something.  Anyway, he said from the way things look, I will still be pregnant come Thanksgiving.  Which is fine by me.  He also added that I "could still go at anytime".  So I guess Zoey is going to be eating Turkey come next Thursday.  I go back Wednesday, since Thursday their offices will be closed.  I told Kent that I wouldn't mind her staying put until at least after next Friday.  I kind of want to hit all the "sales" that day.  I haven't done that in sooo long.  Plus, I want to put the Christmas decorations up.  Zoey probably thinks we don't want her to come at all.  I just want her to come at a time where our lives are so busy and we all can just rest and get settled before the BIG holiday of Christmas comes.  Her daddy also looked at the calendar and said that the 30th or even the 1st of December would be the best bet.  That way he will be off for Christmas.  We'll see.  I'm not going to push her.  I have waited this long...only 13 more days until her due date.  I think I can wait a little longer.

Testing

I'm testing this to see if AOL will even let me (me being the one who PAYS for this service!) add an entry.  It took me forever and I mean forever to add Jon Kent's birthday entry.  And that was only because I went through another browser and accessed my journal that way.  How ridiculous is that?  Oh and those banner ads that you have going across my journal, AOL, are just lovely.  Really...it just adds TONS of charm to my little space.  Makes it cozy... *sarcasm* If you couldn't tell...

Anyway, if this actually saves, I'll be back later to write a real entry.

Happy Birthday Jon Kent

Exactly one year ago today, I was blessed with my first miracle baby!  Jon Kent was a baby that was prayed for and waited on for a long time.  When he entered the world, he changed my life completely.  He has blessed and enriched my life is so many ways.  He has taught me patience, confidence, and discipline.  I fall more in love with him as each day passes.  So, Happy Birthday Jon Kent!  May you have many, many, many more!!

Here is the full story of his birth:

Jon Kentâ€Â™s Birth Story   Saturday November 13th
I started having a lot of contractions and thought they were regular enough to go get checked out.  Kent came home from work, and we headed to the hospital to see if it was the real thing.  We get to the hospital and I get all hooked up to the machines.  My contractions had tapered off and weren't coming as often or as intense.  However, my blood pressure was high.  But they sent me home anyways.
  Sunday November 14th
After getting home from the hospital, the contractions started back up early Sunday morning.  I would wake up to a horrible contraction, only to pass right back out after it ended.  I woke up Sunday morning exhausted.  Sunday morning, I walked for about 30 minutes or so and came in to take a nap.  I woke up and went to Grannyâ€Â™s house for lunch.  She mentioned to me that my face looked really red and that my blood pressure maybe too high.  After lunch I came home and rested.  Later on that night, Kent came in with a blood pressure monitor.  I started testing my blood pressure and it was coming back with high numbers.  I called the hospital and they told me to come in and be monitored.  So Kent, my parents, and myself all went to the hospital.  They hooked me up to the monitors and my blood pressure was indeed high.  They thought since I had â€Âœso manyâ€Â people in the room that it was making my blood pressure go up.  But they were wrong.  My blood pressure just kept getting higher and higher as the night went on.  Soon, the nurse came in and checked me and said I was about 1cm dilated and that they were going to keep me over night for observation.
  Monday November 15th
The on call doctor came into my room at about 6:00 am and told me that my urine culture came back high in protein.  He checked me and I had dilated to 3cm.  He said lets keep her and see if we can have a baby today.  So, at 7:00 am they started the pitocin.  They also had to give me magnesium at 7:30 am to keep my blood pressure down.  But with the magnesium going, it increased my chances of having to have a c-section because it is a muscle relaxer and could stop my contractions.  So they upped the pitocin over time to make sure my contractions continued.  At 10:00 am they gave me my epi.  I don't really remember it much because they really had me doped up on pain medicine hoping to keep my blood pressure under control.  I do remember feeling pretty good though at this point.  At 11:00 am they broke my water.  I progressed slowly after that point.  And my doctor even later admitted that he thought I would be his c-section for the day.  However at 4:30 pm I was complete and at 10cm.  At 4:55 pm I started pushing.  And at 5:05 pm Jonathan Kent Owens, Jr. was born weighing 5lbs, 8oz and was 19 ½ inches long.  He was absolutely beautiful.  He came out with blonde hair and blue eyes.  His skin tone was so pretty and tan looking.  Almost like he had been laying in the sun.  His daddy and I both were very proud of our new little miracle.

Survey

I have seen this in several of the journals that I read.  So, I hope you enjoy it and maybe learn a little something about me!  =oD   1. What size town did you go to High school in?

It was some what of a small town.  20,000 (roughly) people.  My graduating class was about 120 or so.

2.  What was your high school mascot?

It was a Tiger.  Pretty original, huh?!!?!

3. What group did you belong to in school...band, cheerleader, sports, nerds, loners, wanna bes?

Ummm...well...  I was in the band and I did sports.  I guess I had friends in most of the "groups".  Except for the "drug crowd".  I had "my close circle" of friends.  And we all had our own thing.  I played soccer, was in the band, and was on the Annual Staff (year book).

4.  Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?

My daddy!!  LOL.  Actually, in high school, it was Ms. Patterson..she taught English.  Most of the kids didn't like her, because she actually made you learn.  But I really enjoyed her class.  I learned a lot and got good grades!  And my favorite math teacher of all time...my daddy!!  I got good grades in there too...and yes I earned them!!!

5. How old were you when you were first seriously kissed?

15 years old.  By whom you may be wondering....none other than my hunky hubby, Kent!!

6. What were your school colors?

Red and White

7.  How many boyfriends/girlfriends did you have in high school?

2...one lasted until Dec. of my 9th grade year and the second one started May of my 9th grade year and has lasted until.....NOW!!  <Waves at Kent>

8. What was your favorite subject?

Year Book...lol.  It was easy and I got to skip classes...lol.

9. Did you ever skip class? Did you get caught?

Well....  My daddy was a teacher at my high school, so it was kind of hard to skip school and NOT get caught.  But I did have "college" days that I didn't go looking at colleges...lol.  But my parents knew where I was.

10.If you could tell kids in high school one thing you learned what would it be?

Don't worry so much about what others think of you.  Because once you graduate, you probably won't see much of those who you cared so much about impressing.  Also, really take the school work seriously and try and get into a good college.  It really will make a difference in your life.  I wish I would have taken it a little bit more seriously.

Jon Kent's 1st Birthday Party

Jon Kent's party was today.  It went really well.  He got a lot of stuff and really had a good time.  He didn't really get into his cake and get messy.  I guess he is a little neat freak like his Momma.  But he did manage to get a little bit on his hands and face.  He didn't really care too much about opening his presents.  He was ready to get back into the balls and play.  But we managed to get through it.  Some of the "bigger" items of the day were:  A red wagon from his Gramsie and Poohba (my parents), a Cozy Coupe from his Mimi and Papa (Kent's parents), a basketball goal from Kent and me, a musical chair type thing from his Great Granny and Pawpaw (Kent's grandparents), and lots of clothes from lots of people.  He also got a Build-A-Bear from his Aunt Kerith (Kent's sister).  And some books and other odds and ends of toys.  He really made out!!  Anyway, it was a success.  And Zoey didn't show up for the party, so it was a good day!  Yall enjoy the pictures!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!

Tomorrow is Jon Kent's 1st Birthday party!!  YAY!!!  We went and picked up his cake today.  It turned out soooo cute!  I will have to take some pictures of it and let yall see it.  There is still a lot to do.  But we have put if off until tomorrow to do it.  Which may turn around and bite us in the butt.  But we'll see.  After Jon Kent has his breakfast, I am taking him over to my parent's house so they can keep him while Kent and I get everything done.  The party starts at 1pm, and the place only gives you 15 before hand to set up.  Which stinks.  But we will manage.  I can't wait to see how Jon Kent reacts to everything.  I hope he enjoys himself.  Well, I am sooo tired already so I think I am going to head to bed.  I'll try and update yall as soon as I can and post some pictures.  Have a great weekend!!

37th week appointment

I had my 37th week appointment today.  I lost a pound, Zoey's heartbeat was 147bpm, she is measuring at 36 weeks (which he said is still good), and my blood pressure was up a bit.  It seemed to worry the doctor a little bit.  He started doing the reflex test on my knees and said I was a bit jumpy (whatever that means).  The first time they took it, it was like 120/92.  The second time they took it was like 130/82 or something like that.  He said that it was still high compared to what my blood pressure has been.  He told me if I start having headaches, seeing spots, or if under my right rib starts to hurt, to call him and get my blood pressure checked again.  Also, I am a finger tip dilated.  I go back the 17th for a regular check up.  Hopefully I will make it that far!  I told the doctor that I didn't want to have her before the 15th and I would be really happy if I didn't go until after Thanksgiving.  He laughed.  Oh well.  We'll see what happens!!

House pictures from yesterday

I have a lot to update on, but I will wait until I have more time.  I tried to put these in my journal last night.  But right as they were being put into my journal, AOL decided to freeze up on me.  So, they are bit late.  They got half of the roof started and put in all the windows.  Hopefully today they will have the roof done and the shingles started.  They have already delivered everything they would need for the house.  We'll see!  Enjoy the pictures!!

Hump Day!

Well, it's Hump day.  Only one more day until Kent is off.  He has had to work 7 straight days this work cycle.  Which is fine, because he will be off for Jon Kent's birthday party.  I'm just dog tired by the time his days off come around that when they do finally come, I could throw a celebration!  Still, this week has gone by so slow.  The weather is HOT, at least for November.  We have had 3 days of record temps.  Which stinks.  It's not supposed to be in the 80s in November.  It's just WRONG!  Not to mention it brings the ladybugs out in swarms!!  ATTACK OF THE LADYBUGS!!!

Even as I type, I can hear hammering going on at the new house.  See, the new house is roughly a 100 or so yards from my current house.  They delivered the "roof stuff" (don't know the correct term for it) this morning around 6am.  And they have been hammering away all day.  I can't wait to get up there and see what they have done.  If it weren't for all the trees, I could see from my house...  Oh well.  I guess I can wait until Kent gets home.  I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get the chance to download them.

Tomorrow I go for my 37th week appointment.  Today I am OFFICIALLY 37 weeks which is considered full term.  However, Zoey has been told not to come until after the 15th, but if she is in such a hurry she can come Saturday EVENING.  Only after her brother has had his last blaze of glory being an only child.  Until then...no leavin' the womb little missy!!  My appointment is for 8:15am.  Pretty early considering I have to drive an hour to get there.  But I needed to make it early, because I have a hair appointment at 11am.  I'm hoping I make it!!

Well, I best be going.  I have a few cleaning chores to get done and then a nice bath to take.  I'll talk with yall later!  Have a great Wednesday!!

More house work

And yet again, they did a lot more house work today.  It really shouldn't be long now until they have the roof completed.  It's really exciting to see everything taking shape.  It's really starting to look like a house now!!

In other news, Jon Kent had to go to the ear doctor today.  His tubes were fine and clear but he had an infection in his inner ear on his skin.  The doctor said it feels/hurts like swimmers ear.  He gave us some drops to put in his ears twice a day for a week.  He said that those should clear it up.  Here's hoping!

In Zoey news...  She isn't behaving.  She is starting to scare me a little bit because I am starting to hurt.  Not contraction hurt, just hurt.  And it feels like when I walk, my bones are just rubbing against her head.  OUCH!!!!  I REALLY hope she stays put for AT LEAST another week!  I have just about worried myself sick thinking that I might miss Jon Kent's first Birthday party.  That would be so horrible!!

Anyway, I guess I will go.  Enjoy the pictures!

House Updates

They did A LOT of work today on the house!  A LOT!!  If they keep this up, they should have it completely enclosed soon!!  Here are a lot of pictures for yall to see what all they have done.  Enjoy!!

Monday, Monday, Monday

So this morning I woke up at 7:30am next to my snuggle bear, Jon Kent.  For whatever reason I had just a ball of energy waiting to be used.  So, I fed Jon Kent and after eating he got down and played for a little bit.  I started straightening the house and getting clothes separated to be washed.  I threw the first load in and then sat down and played with Jon Kent for a bit.  We played with cars, balls, blocks, etc.

Then I got online to check my mail and all that good stuff.  Around 10:15am Jon Kent started calling for his "Baba" (bottle), so I knew it was time for a "snack" and a nap.  He took his bottle and down for a nap he went---in his crib I might add.  Woohoo!  While he was sleeping I put the alone time to good use.  I folded clothes and washed/dried others.  I cleaned the kitchen, computer/dining area, dusted the living room, dusted the bedroom, and swept some of the floors.  Jon Kent only slept for about an hour in his crib.  He woke up crying and still sleepy, so I held him for another 45 minutes while he slept and I rested.  After waking up from his nap Jon Kent "helped" me clean.  As you can see in the pictures.  It was the cutest thing!!  He was walking all over the house trying to sweep.  I guess he sees me doing it all the time and just caught on---good boy!!!

Anyway, after all his hard manual labor, it was time for lunch.  He ate his lunch and then got down and played while I folded some more clothes.  I saved the vacuuming for after Jon Kent got up from his nap.  1)Because I didn't want to wake him--DUH! and 2)He likes to watch and chase the vacuum.  So anyway, we vacuumed the whole house and the living room furniture.  We also Windex the front door and the mirrors in the house.

All that is left to do now is clean the bathroom, sweep the rest of the floors, and mop.  All of which are my least favorite things to do.

Plus, it doesn't help that it is HOT here in Bama.  83 degrees as I type!!  Stupid southern weather!

Anyway, I guess I should go.  I want to finish my cleaning and laundry before my better half (brownie points) gets home.  We are going grocery shopping after he gets off of work.  He said he didn't want me hauling Jon Kent and groceries around because of my present condition---ain't he sweet!  Anyway, yall enjoy the pictures!!  Have a good one!!

Another Saturday

Today has been a fairly slow day.  Which it always is when I get up early.  Jon Kent and I woke up around 7:30am.  He got in the bed with me around 6:30am or so.  I guess that is just the way it's going to be until he out grows this stage in his life.  I have tried to train him to stay in his bed and sleep on night there, but it wasn't working and making up both very tired and cranky!

Anyway, we got up at 7:30am and we had breakfast.  Then I did some odds and ends around the house before we headed to Wal-Mart.  I had to stop and get gas since my gas light came on as I was pulling out of the drive way.  I hate spending so much money on gas.  It's really ridiculous!

Anyway, we spent about 45 minutes or so in Wal-Mart.  When we got home I unloaded every thing and then took Jon Kent out to play in the yard for a little bit.  I was hoping to tire him out a little.  After playing we came back in for a "Baba" and a nap.  I got Jon Kent to sleep and took him into his room.  To which he opens his eyes and sees where he is at and starts crying.  But I calmed him down enough to escape the room.  He whined for a minute or two, but ended up sleeping close to an hour in his crib (YAY!!!).  After he woke up from his nap we had lunch and then played for a little bit.  He is currently spending some time with his Granny and PawPaw.  After Jon Kent left, I did some cleaning and balanced the checkbook.  I also worked on some party favors for Jon Kent's party, which is a week from today.  Now, I am just waiting on Kent to get home from work.  He should be home in about 15 minutes or so.  I have plans to cook ham, mashed potatoes, and cornbread for supper.  There might be another side to the menu but I haven't decided what I want, if I want anything.  We'll see.

As far as a house update, they didn't do any work today.  I guess they don't work on the weekends.  Which is stupid, because the quicker they get done the sooner they get paid.  Oh well.  There is always Monday I guess.

I best be going now.  I will talk with yall later.  Have a great weekend!!

More Progress on the House

Another full day of house work.  They got a lot done today.  Hopefully they will continue tomorrow.

36th week appointment & House update

Today I had my 36th week appointment.  I am now officially on weekly appointments until my due date.  Everything went fine.  I gained 4 pounds (25 so far) in the last four weeks.  My urine came back fine and my iron was up.  They took my blood pressure and it was also fine.  Everything with me checked out perfectly.  Zoey's heart rate was 154 bpm which is great.  She is measuring right on as well.  She is head down also.  Which is all great!!  I had to have my Strep B test done today.  I don't remember it hurting last time with Jon Kent.  But it hurt this time for whatever reason.  The doctor said that they were using new types of swabs.  I guess they are bigger now than they were a year ago.  Also, I met the newest doctor of the group.  He was very nice.  He asked about Jon Kent and all that good stuff.  I go back the 10th for my 37th week appointment.

The contractor for our house has FINALLY started working on it again.  It has been almost 2 weeks since they have done any construction work.  They got a lot done today.  They put in all the beams for the flooring.  It's really starting to make the house look bigger.  Which I was worried about, because it was looking pretty small there for a while.  Anyway, I believe they got all the beams done and now all they have to do is put the flooring down and then frame it up.  They also delivered the wood for the walls.  It's pretty exciting.  I'm just glad they finally got started again.  I was starting to get annoyed with them.

Today we went and ordered Jon Kent's birthday cake.  It's Sesame Street 1st Birthday.  We will pick it up on the 11th and Jon Kent's birthday party is on the 12th.  And his BIRTHDAY is the 15th.  Sniff, sniff.

Well, I need to go.  I still have a load of stuff to do before this day is over.  Yall be good and enjoy the pictures!!!

Happy November!!

The month that I have been waiting for is finally here.  Unless Zoey is overdue, I will have another baby by the end of this month.  29 days and counting until she is due.  It's unreal to think that we will have ANOTHER baby to raise.  I am scared to death.  I just can't see how I will handle all of the work, all of the raising, all of the diaper changes, all of the bottles, all of the stress...  BUT I am sooooo looking forward to NOT BEING PREGNANT!!  I will be SOOOOOOOOOOO happy to have my body back...or at least most of it.  To sleep on my stomach...to sleep on my BACK!  Ahh, who am I kidding- -sleep.  What is sleep?  I think I don't sleep NOW- - -Hahaha, give me a few weeks and I will REALLY know what no sleep is about.

There is a lot going on this month.  Doctor appointments for myself and Jon Kent.  I have one this week and so does he.  Then we have like 2 other birthdays BESIDES Jon Kent's to buy for.  Jon Kent's birthday party in two weeks and then his birthday.  I have a hair appointment in the month somewhere.  Jon Kent has his one year check up towards the end of the month.  There is Thanksgiving and then Zoey's due date.  Lots and lots of things happening.  It should make the time fly by...but do I REALLY want it to??  Ummm, that IS the question of the day.

Well, I am off to do chores.  I also need to take down all the Halloween stuff.  I hope yall are having a great day!!

Halloween

These are the pictures that I have now of Halloween.  The other camera has a lot more on it.  But they won't load onto my computer.  So, I am going to have to get them put on a CD and load them that way.  So for now this is all I got.  So yall enjoy.  Oh, Jon Kent really racked up on his Halloween outing.  He got a toy truck at his Granny's and PawPaw's, a key chain/alarm and play cell phone at his Mimi's and Papa's, and a ball slide type toy at his Gramsie's and Poohba's.  He will have a load of fun tomorrow when he gets to play with them.  He is in the bed now knocked out!  Anyway, it was a good night!  I can't wait to show yall ALL the pictures!!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!!  I hope everyone has a good one!!  I will be sure to take a lot of pictures of my little man to share with yall.  This is his first Halloween, so we are going to all the family tonight.  Have a great day everyone!!

Football Saturday

War Eagle!!

Anyway, I love Saturdays!!  Especially when Kent is off of work!  Woohoo!!  We are currently watching Auburn play Ole Miss.  Which right now Auburn is winning!  Go Tigers!!  Jon Kent is currently taking nap- - - IN HIS CRIB!!!!!  Woohoo!!  My house is clean, the weather is nice, I have a crock pot of stew cooking, and it is a BEAUTIFUL day outside (yeah I know I have already mentioned it...but it was worth repeating).  Today has been a good day thus far.  Jon Kent woke up at 6:30am after going to bed at 8pm the night before- - -on his own.  Once he woke up, I changed his diaper and brought him back to bed with me.  He slept until 8am on the dot.  We all got up and had breakfast.  Kent went off to a men's conference that our church was having at 9am.  While he was gone, Jon Kent and I played.  Then Gramsie (my momma) came by and visited for a little bit.  After she left it was getting close to 11am, so I figured I better start the stew.  While preparing that, Kent came home from the conference.  He took Jon Kent outside for a little bit while I finished up cooking.  Around 12pm Jon Kent finally got tired enough for a nap.  So I rocked him and he went to sleep.  As I was carrying him to his crib he woke up for like a split second and cried out.  But I told him it was "OK" and he went right back to sleep.  He is still in there as I type, so I am hoping he stays that way for at least another hour.  We'll see!!  As for the rest of the day, we don't have anything planned.  Just watching football all day and eating stew (can you tell I am excited about the stew?).  The stew is a new recipe that I found on someone else's journal.  I am giving it a shot.  It smells good if that counts for something...  I do need to run by Wal-Mart and pick up some pictures we had developed- - -last week.  And they still haven't returned them yet.  I am hoping they haven't lost them!  I also need to pick up some more cameras to have when Zoey is born.  Go ahead and pack them up so we know we have them.  Anyway, I guess that is my Saturday.  I hope yall are having a good one too!!!

A little preview

We put Jon Kent in his Halloween costume today.  Just to see how he would like it and react to it.  It was pretty amusing to say the least!  LOL  I am still giggling to myself...

Yall enjoy!!

35 weeks and counting

Today marks 35 weeks of pregnancy for me.  Only 5 more to go.  Woohoo!  It is getting closer and closer.  Even though I would really like to get it all over with right here and right now, I know that 5 more weeks of cooking will do her good.  And give me time to get things completely ready for her.  Not to mention, celebrate Jon Kent's first birthday which is in 20 days.  I would also like to have his birthday party without any contractions or breaking of waters...lol.  I would seriously feel horrible if I were in the hospital on his birthday party day (12th) or on his birthday (15th).  So, anytime after the 15th is good.  Although the 30th would be fine too.  Just as long as she is healthy and the labor is as easy as it was with Jon Kent!  LOL

Tuesday

It has been an alright day.  Nothing major to really talk about.  We all got up at 7:30am.  Ate breakfast and either watched TV or played in the floor.  Jon Kent started getting sleepy around 10:30am or so, so he had a bottle and took a nap.  Or actually we both took a nap.  We slept til 1pm.  I love being able to snuggle with him and get some bonus rest all at the same time.  But there is a lot of things I could do during that time as well.  The house is starting to lose it's "shine".  Since the cats have "moved out", I don't find myself cleaning as much.  Which is a good thing, because I really don't have to clean as often.  But I always just tell myself, "well it doesn't LOOK dirty, so it can wait until tomorrow".  Well, then tomorrow comes and goes and it still doesn't get done.  I end up getting frustrated at myself at the end of the day.  I am hoping he will start sleeping on his own soon.  I don't mind rocking him to sleep.  Just as long as he would stay that way.  Which he won't.  At least not right now.

After Kent left for work, Jon Kent and I played for a bit and then headed into town.  Bills needed to be paid and I need a MUCH needed bra run to Wal-Mart.  I bought two bras while there and I am just hoping they fit right.  Also, I picked up another pack of diapers for Zoey and a head support thing for her car seat.  It was a nice little get away from the house.  I need more of those.  I swear I look at these same walls day after day after day.  And after awhile it gets old.

After the trip to town we came home and Jon Kent took about a 45 minute nap.  I sat there with him in my arms and watched the news.  He woke up and had supper.  Then I ate some supper as well.  Then we both sat in the floor and played for awhile.  Once I thought Jon Kent was playing well on his own, I got up to go wash dishes.  And would you believe...the little munchkin wouldn't play with me that whole time, but as soon as I get up to go wash dishes, his whole world falls apart.  LOL  So I then washed dishes with an extra weight on my right leg.  *sigh*  And it was a FULL sink to boot!  Oh well.  It got done and we both survived.

We then played for about another hour or so and then it was Jon Kent's bath time.  So we picked up all his toys and got his bed ready.  While the water was running for his bath I warmed up a bottle for him and turned the heaters in the house on (which are about to give me a nervous breakdown because I have to watch Jon Kent like a HAWK because he is attracted to the flame...just like his daddy....likes fire.).  He then got his bath and got his PJs on.  We had his bottle and I took him to his bed.  He cried longer tonight than usual.  But he finally gave it up.

I now sit alone...  I have read all my email, checked all my regular journal, and looked up all the sites I wanted to look up...  I could clean now, but it can wait until tomorrow....

Just another October day

The weather here is chilly.  But it is sooo nice.  The skies are clear and blue.  There is a nice breeze.  The leaves are falling.  It's just perfect!  I really love this type of weather.  It would be better if Jon Kent didn't have a cold and I could actually take him out and let him play in the leaves.  Hopefully he will be feeling better soon and we can get out while the weather is still nice.  It's supposed to be in the upper 50s to mid 60s all week.  Woohoo!!  Well, that is all for today.  Enjoy the pictures.  I thought he looked cute all bundled up.  LOL

*~*Sigh*~*

I honestly don't even know what to write right now.  I just felt the urge to add an entry into my journal.  Right now I feel sooo, how do I put it...*blah*.  I have noticed that none of my clothes fit, my face is looking fat, my fingers are swollen, my toes are swollen, my hips are the size of Texas, and oddly enough my butt actually pokes out (if you know me, you know that last one is a good thing...).  Anyway, I just feel ugly.  There is not an ounce of good self esteem in me.  I know I said that I wanted to wait as long as possible (and I'll probably eat my words later on) before Zoey made her appearance but I am so tired of being pregnant.  I mean think about it.  Starting in June of 2003--I was pregnant until August, lost the baby and got pregnant again in November.  Lost the baby in December.  Got pregnant in Feb. of 2004 and had Jon Kent in Nov. 04.  Got pregnant again in March of 2005 and will probably have Zoey in Nov. 2005.  So if you add all those months up I have been pregnant roughly 21 months.  TWENTY ONE MONTHS!!!!!!  I am grateful that God has given me a healthy boy and hopefully a healthy girl.  I know that there are people out there who can't have babies or are in the middle of a trying time of infertility (I have been there).  And it's taking me a lot to even write this because I hate to sound or seem like I am not grateful.  But I am just sooo tired of being pregnant.  I just want my body back.  I just want to be able to put my socks and shoes on without turning blue.  I want to be able to get in the floor and play with Jon Kent without hurting when I get back up.  I want to feel attractive again.  I want to fit in clothes that couldn't be used as a tent in a pinch.  I am in such a mood tonight I guess.  I'm just overwhelmed.  I'll be better soon I am sure.  It just seems like right now things just stink...

Dananananana BATMAN Dananananana

Kent is currently watching the movie that just came out about Batman.  Woohoo...  I have no interest in it at all.  I never was one for all the hero movies or shows.  Kent however...oy!  He likes it all...Superman, Batman, Teen Titans, anything superhero related.  Some boys never grow up!  ;oP

Anyway, today was a pretty good day.  Jon Kent slept until 6:30am.  I changed his diaper and then brought him back into the bed with us.  He slept until 8am.  He didn't wake up once all night long.  Which I was truly thankful for.  I don't even think I heard him grunt or anything.  I guess he was really out of it from his long day of sickness.  He woke up this morning feel MUCH better.  We still took him to his doctor's appointment this morning.  The doctor said that Jon Kent has an upper respiratory infection.  And his ears were really red on the inside.  So he gave us a round of antibiotics and told us to come back in two weeks.  But Jon Kent seems to be doing just fine.  He only took one nap today and has played all day long.  He has been in the best mood!  I hope he sleeps well again tonight.  So far he is.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be a lot cooler.  Which I am really thankful for.  For the next 7 days or so the weather is supposed to be in the 60s.  WOOOOHOOOO!!!!!  I can't wait!!  Maybe some of my puffiness will go down.  My fingers and toes are really puffy.  Only 6 more weeks...only 6 more weeks...

Well, I better go.  Although I really don't have anything to do...  Except watch the Batman movie...  And that doesn't sound like much fun...

Night all!!

He is feeling better

YAY!!  Jon Kent IS feeling better.  Or atleast he isn't attached to my leg or lap at all times.  Which I secretly did enjoy while it lasted...  Anyway, he has been playing a lot more since we got home and he seems fine--except for the runny nose, coughing, and sneezing.  We gave him his first dose of medicine before he went to bed.  Hopefully, he will wake up feeling a lot better.  And soon we will have all this sickness behind us.  I for one will be glad to see it gone!!

In house news, things are coming along.  They poured the concrete as you can see in the pictures and put up the temporary pole for the power to be hooked up.  Hopefully once that is hooked up they will start framing up the house.

I had my OB appointment.  My doctor checked me just to make sure things weren't progressing yet.  And they weren't.  Thankfully!  She told me just to keep an eye on things, because things could happen more quickly this time around--since it has only been 11 months since I have given birth.  I still say Nov. 23rd.  We'll see.  Anyway, that is all for today.  Enjoy the pictures!!

Jon Kent update

We'll see how far I get with this entry.  Jon Kent is having a rare moment of not being attached to my leg so I'll get in as much of an update as I can.  Jon Kent is still sick.  So yesterday we put in a call to his doctor.  But I guess we called too late.  So, we left a message for them to call us first thing this morning and set up an appointment.  Well, this morning we got up and I was getting ready for my OB appointment that I had at 8:45am.  It was about 6:30am at this point.  Well, Jon Kent got up and he was coughing and coughing and coughing.  He then starts to throw up repeatedly.  Which was actually good because he was throwing up mucus.  But at the same time it was like he just couldn't stop.  So we took him to the ER.  They said he has "some sort of virus".  They gave us a RX and told us to follow up with Jon Kent's doctor tomorrow.  They also put him on a liquid diet for the next 24 hours.  He isn't eating much.  He took about 4-5oz of his bottle and will not drink any types of juice (pedilyte(sp?), liquidlyte(sp?), etc).  I guess he doesn't like the taste.  I guess I will just give him water (which he likes).  He doesn't have a fever and the doctor in the ER said his lungs sounded clear.  Which was what I was most worried about.  Hopefully my little man will feel better soon.  I called my OB doctor and pushed my appointment back until 2pm.  So I need to go and start getting ready for that.  It's an hour drive from my house, so I best get going.  Talk with yall later!

One of those nights

Jon Kent caught a cold from some where and started sounding stopped up yesterday.  Well, by the time bedtime rolled around he was coughing, his nose was running, and he was sneezing all over the place.  We gave him a bath and some medicine before he went to bed.  Around 1:30am he woke up and was crying.  I usually will let him cry for a few minutes just to make sure he really is up.  8 out of 10 times he will go back to sleep.  Well, last night he didn't.  So, I went in there and got him and brought him back into the bed with me.  After laying there for about 10 or 15 minutes I starting feeling sick myself.  Except, mine wasn't a cold.  I felt like I was going to throw up.  My whole body got really hot.  So, I got up which of course woke Jon Kent up and he starts crying.  So I go to the bathroom.  After thinking I felt better, I was going to go back to bed.  But Kent and Jon Kent were in the living room watching TV, because Jon Kent wouldn't go back to bed.  So, I got Jon Kent and told Kent to go to bed since he had to go into work at 7:30am.  Jon Kent and I watched some TV until he drifted off to sleep.  As soon as I stood up to take Jon Kent to his bed, his little eyes popped open and he was crying.  I at the same time started feeling sick again.  So, I had no choice but to just turn Jon Kent's mobile on and hope that he would fall back to sleep.  Which he did.  After feeling a lot better after by bathroom visit, I went back to bed.  It was around 2:45am at this point.  Well, I start having contractions.  And these weren't braxton hicks.  These HURT!  I am thinking to myself, "OK, these are just false labor pains.  They will go away in a few minutes."  Meanwhile, I go in to check on Jon Kent because I thought he was asleep.  WRONG!  As soon as my foot stepped into his room, his floor popped and his little head pops up.  So back into the living room we go.  He goes to sleep and I take him back to his bed.  Well, now it's around 3:15ish am.  I am still having contractions.  At that point I start to panic a little bit.  Not so much about the contractions, but the fact that I am no where near prepared for Zoey to come.  None of her clothes are washed.  I don't have her bed set up.  I don't have all the baby things gathered and organized.  I was just a ball of panic at that point.  Around 4:30am I finally fall asleep.  I was just hoping that when I did wake up, that I didn't wake up to my water breaking.  At 6:30am I wake up to Jon Kent crying.  So, I go into his room and get him and bring him back into the bed with me.  The poor little man is stuffed completely up and coughing.  He laid in the bed with me and fell asleep, but I couldn't because he was breathing so funny.  Around 7:15am Kent comes in there and kisses me bye as he was leaving for work.  Jon Kent was awake and ready to get up.  So we did.  I fed him breakfast and then ate some thing myself.  From 8:45-10:45 this morning, Jon Kent was in my lap.  Which he never does.  He rather be in the floor playing or getting into something.  But he was either watching TV in a little daze or asleep.  He actually only slept like 30 mins during that time because he would cough and wake himself up.  The poor little guy was just out of it.  He started feeling better around 11am or so.  So he took a bottle and we played and watched the news.  Around 12pm he got sleepy again so he took about an hour long nap that time.  He still woke up a few times because he couldn't breathe with his paci in his mouth.  Around 1pm he ate a little bit of lunch but not a lot.  He kept coughing and making himself gag.  And that pretty much brings us to the present.  I still have all my chores left to do and I need to take a shower.  I feel like I am covered in germs (which I probably am).  So, on that note, I will leave.  Have a great Wednesday everyone!!
