Prayers are Needed

A tragic thing has happened to someone from J-Land.  This person I didn't know personally but I do read a journal of someone who did.  Here is a link to the journaler that I do read.  The full story and details are in there.

The Secret Life of a Stay at Home Mom

The lady's name is Gretchen and she lost her son Friday when he was hit by a car while waiting on his brother at a bus stop.  The little boy was only 11 years old.  Please say a prayer for this family.  I personally couldn't imagine losing one of my children so I am sure this family is in shock and just at a loss right now.

Memorial Day Review

Memorial Day went pretty well.  We stayed busy for most of the day.  About 12pm we went over to Kent's parents' house and ate lunch with them and some other members of Kent's family.  About the time we got through eating a thunderstorm blew in and stayed for awhile.  It took forever for that thing to come and go.  By the time it blew over everything was wet and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees.  We ate some homemade ice cream and then went swimming for a bit.  Jon Kent seemed to enjoy himself.  He swam and then took over Zoey's pool (see pics above).  Zoey hasn't even been in it yet with water in it.  She slept through pool time yesterday.  So while she slept I joined everyone else and swam.  Once she got up we headed over to a gathering for my family's side.  Jon Kent and I swam there as well.  We ate some BBQ and sat around for a bit.  By the time we got home it was almost the kids' bedtime.  So we got them tucked into bed and we just watched TV and did some odds and ends before heading to bed.  I hope everyone had a good day yesterday!  Enjoy the only pictures I managed to get yesterday.  I forgot to take my camera to the pool.  Later all.

1st Tooth!!!!!!!

Zoey has her first tooth!!!!  I can not believe she has her first tooth already!  Jon Kent was like 7 1/2 months old when his first tooth broke through and Zoey is just shy of 6 months.  My baby is growing up!!  So now I just have to deal with her biting me now when she nurses.  So far so good but it's not all the way up.  I'm really hoping she isn't a biter.  I've heard horror stories about babies biting while nursing.  I never made it this far with Jon Kent due to his acid reflux and all.  So this is all new ground to me.  Yikes!!  But sooo exciting about her first tooth!!!  Going now to put it in her baby book...later!

I just love Saturdays

Even though Kent has to work on Saturdays I still love them.  It just seems everyone is happier on Saturdays.  Especially when the sun is shining and there is a lot of things going on.  I just got through doing my Saturday "chores".  I do certain chores all week long to keep the house clean.  It's just too much cleaning now to do it all in a day.  So I spread them out over the week.  Anyway, today was cleaning the bathrooms, mopping the bathroom floors, cleaning the kitchen counter tops (I actually do this several times during the week), and sweeping (which I also do a couple of times a week).  The house smells so clean now.  I just love it!  The babies are napping.  It's such a relief having them both go down for naps at the same time on most days.  Gives this mommy a break and I can get some things done.

After they get up it will be lunch time.  Hot dogs for the boy and sweet potatoes for the girl.  I don't know what I will be having.  Hopefully something will pop out at me.

Then tonight we are having steaks.  YUMMY!  Also this afternoon Kent and I will be working out.  My body is still tired from yesterday's workout!  We went to bed last night at 9:15pm.  LOL.  That is really early for us!  But we were all just so tired.  Kent and Jon Kent went swimming last night at Kent's parents' house.  Zoey and I just watched from the deck.  Jon Kent had a blast.  He let us put his back float (helps him learn to swim) on.  And he just had a ball.  He even would jump off the deck into someone's arms...well OK, maybe he just walked off...he doesn't know the concept of jumping yet, but he would just laugh and giggle every time he did it.  He really had a good time.  And Zoey loved watching all the activity going on.  It was pretty fun.

Well, I guess that is all she wrote.  I am going to go surf the web while I have some time on my hands.  By the way, enjoy the pictures.  I took those yesterday.  Later all and have a safe and fun weekend!!

Memorial Day Plans?

So what are yall doing for Memorial Day weekend??

Kent has to work Saturday and Sunday but he is off Monday (one of his usual off days).  We never really do anything for the weekend.  Just for the actual day.  Kent's parents have a pool and such, so we are going over there and grilling out and swimming.  Some of Kent's immediate family will be there as well.  It's usually a good time.

My Momma did mention something about having a get together with my side of the family.  But nothing has been mentioned since.  So we will have to see how that pans out.  If they do decide to do something, it will be quite a busy day for us.  Maybe the kids will sleep good that night though.

Kent and I took Jon Kent and Zoey swimming Tuesday afternoon.  Jon Kent wasn't really thrilled about the water though.  I think I still have hand and foot prints on my arms and hips.  He was OK as long as we were near the edge of the pool.  And he loved sitting on the deck and throwing things into the water.  But once he got into the water he turned into a hip baby for sure.  But he started warming up to it towards the end.  And then yesterday we were over at Kent's parents' house and he wanted to get into the pool.  But 1) he didn't have his swim suit on and 2) it was nap time.  So maybe today we will get in.  It just take so much time to put the sun screen on, put the swimming diaper on, put the swim suit on and then go out there and swim for 15-20 minutes before they are tired of it.  Thirty minutes to get everyone dressed and 20 minutes of actual playtime...

Well, I guess I better end this here.  I need to go put down all the chairs from mopping before my little ones wake up from their naps.  Talk with yall later!

Updating with some pictures

These were taken about a week or so ago.  The weather got pretty chilly so I had to find clothes that were warmer...even if all the pieces didn't match...lol.  Enjoy!

Doing a happy, happy, joy, joy dance!

Some of my readers already have read this but for those of you who don't read the message boards that I post on...here it is for you!!

I am beyond excited!  I just weighed myself after not weighing myself for about 3 weeks.  And I weigh less now than I did when I got pregnant with Jon Kent!!  All the baby weight is officially off!!!!!!!!!!  WOOOOHOOOO!!!  It only took me 2 years and 2 months to do it!!!!!!!!!!  LOL!!!  Now, if only my skin would draw up and my belly would go down 2 or 3 inches....THEN I would be doing GREAT!!!  LOL...OK, I'm done!!!  Wait...one more WOOHOO!!!

Don't Tease Me Summer!!

Finally, finally, finally!!!  It looks like summer has arrived.  Which I thought it had about 2 weeks ago but then the temps went down to the 60's and all my hopes of keeping the windows open and feeling a cool breeze went out the window.  But it looks like summer is here to stay.  The breeze is now a warm breeze which by June will turn into a hot breeze.  And being outside in the sun for more than 15 minutes makes my skin sizzle...which are all signs that summer is here to stay.  Please say it's so!!  I just LOVE summer!!  I can't wait to get to the beach...

In other news, my happy go lucky little girl has turned into a screaming, won't sleep, cranky little girl.  I guess she is teething.  Not really sure.  Her gums seem fine, not swollen or red.  But she just hasn't been my all smiles little girl lately.  Although today has been MUCH better than the past 2 or 3 days.  Hopefully my little perky monkey is coming back.

Jon Kent is cutting his last 2 teeth I believe.  He seems to be doing fine with it.  I can't believe that all his baby teeth will be in soon.  It seems like yesterday I was holding this tiny little 5lb 8oz little baby boy.  And now he is a wild, doesn't stop, talking up a storm, little toddler.  Pretty soon he will be starting school.  MAKE IT STOP!!!!!

I digress... <winks at my husband> Inside joke...

Well, I guess I will end here.  I'm hungry and Jon Kent will be up from his nap soon.  He is going to spend the night with my parents tonight so I need to go get his bags packed.  If only Zoey would take a bottle...maybe she could tag along too.  HA!  Zoey and bottle just don't go together.  Oh well.  Talk with yall later!

Birthday/Mother's Day Weekend Review

My Birthday and Mother's Day weekend was great.  The kids "made" me some birthday cards which I got first thing Saturday morning.  Kent made me breakfast (pancakes) and then later in the day he took me shopping.  Now this is a big deal since any other time we go shopping I get to see eye rolls and hear sighs all through the store.  Or he will prop on some clothes rack and just look at me.  But he didn't complain not one time.  We had an early supper at a place called the "Tavern".  It was really nice.  The lights were turned down real low and you just had a little lamp on your table.  Really romantic like.

Sunday Kent and the babies gave me some Mother's Day cards.  Kent cooked breakfast again.  We then went to church.  Zoey was dedicated yesterday as well.  After church we went and ate lunch at Kent's Granny's house.  Then we went back to church that evening.

As for today, it's back to the same ole same ole.  Cleaning, washing, cooking, etc.  But it was nice to have a whole weekend off.  I enjoyed it greatly.  Now next year my birthday will actually be on Mother's Day.  But maybe I will still get the whole weekend.  LOL.

Well, I need to get going.  Zoey is napping and the boys are outside doing guy stuff.  So I am going to enjoy the peace and quiet.  Later all.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, My Birthday's Tomorrow...

...Which is only a day a WAYYYYYYY!!

OK, good thing yall can't actually hear me singing.  Otherwise only my parent's would be reading this.  Because only a parent of mine could love my signing voice.

I digress...

So tomorrow is my birthday.  My 23rd to be exact.  And what's the plans?  Well, Kent agreed to take me shopping and to quote him,  "I'm going to take you shopping and actually enjoy it."  Hehe, we'll see.  The kids will be staying with my parents for the afternoon/early evening.  We are all hoping Zoey will take a bottle of pumped breast milk.  Because as of late, she wants nothing to do with a bottle.  So the plan is to fill her up before we go, leave some cereal for her to eat, and hope that she doesn't get hungry before we get back OR that she will take the bottle from my momma.  We'll see.

Well, that's all for today folks.  As you can read from my previous entry it has been quite a day and my head is POUNDING!  Night all!

I've had a bad day

That song that plays on American Idol when they are kicking someone off...  Forgive me for not knowing the name of it, as I know it's a popular song or whatever...  Something to the tune of --Had a bad day...

Anyway getting off subject...

I've had a B-A-D day.  And I do mean BAD!  In fact, I don't think I've had this bad of a day in a long time.  Let me think...  Nope not this bad.

Today Kent asked me to go deposit a check into our checking account.  So I figured while I was doing that I would run by Wal-Mart and pick up a few things.  So I piled Jon Kent, Zoey and myself into the car and off we go.

After picking up the needed items I head back to the car with kids in tow.  I put Jon Kent into the car and hand him my keys.  He was being fussy and handing him my keys always calms him down until I can get everyone loaded in.  I close his door and start walking to the other side of the car to load Zoey into her car seat.  And *click* the doors of the car lock.  At first I didn't think anything of it.  As my hand was moving towards the handle of the door to open it, I froze.  That *click* was MY car locking with my CHILD IN IT!!!

OK, so admittedly I should have been freaking out by that point.  Having a complete panic attack...the works.  Instead, I just took a couple of deep...REALLY deep breaths.  I walk around to Jon Kent's side of the car and start trying to coach him into pushing the button.  And guess what...he does....only it's the LOCK button so at this point my car is honking and honking and honking.  And I look into the car and see Jon Kent giggling.  NOT FUNNY Jon Kent!  But I couldn't help but laugh to myself only because I knew one day when he was a parent and his child locks him out of the house or car or spacecraft (you never know with advance technology) that I would be able to smile and giggle to myself because I had been there...

OK, back to the present times...

So after about 5 or 10 minutes of trying to get him to push the unlock button a guy comes over and asks if I locked myself out of my car.  I tell him that no *I* hadn't locked myself out but my child HAD locked himself INSIDE my car.  So he lets me use his cell phone (mine was in the car along with my purse and oh, the milk) and I start calling EVERYONE and anyone that I could think of that I thought could help me.  I called Kent's Granny and she wasn't home but she did end up calling the guy's cellphone back and I told her what was going on.  I think she freaked out more than I did at first.  So meanwhile the guy who let me use his phone calls a locksmith for me.  While waiting on the locksmith, Granny and Pops come and I tell them that I remembered that Kent was on a medical trip taking an inmate to get kidney treatments done.  And the facility was right up the road from Wal-Mart.  So Pops runs over there and grabs Kent's set of keys.  But before he could come back, the locksmith had come and popped the door open.  I grabbed Jon Kent up and just hugged him.  Thankfully the weather here had been unseasonably cool so it wasn't too hot (still hot enough to make Jon Kent break a sweat) in the car.  He was OK and we are all OK.  So I guess in the end that's all that matters.  Just another story to tell the grandkids about...*sigh*

Rainy Day Doings

There's not a load of stuff to talk about today really.  It's been rainy/stormy here all morning and seemingly it will go into the afternoon hours.  So instead of taking the kids outside like I usually do every morning, we stayed inside.  And Jon Kent go into everything.  I had some laundry baskets set up full of clothes and such and of course he had to pull every bit of clothes, wash cloths, towels, etc. out.  But it gave him and Zoey some entertainment for awhile.  I took some pictures, as you can see.  I know most of you who read my journal already got those pictures via email, but for those of you who didn't, ENJOY!!

Fantastic

Jon Kent said the word fantastic today.  And he said it just as plain as can be.  We were at my mother-in-law's house playing a PS game.  One of the characters on the game said "fantastic".  And Jon Kent immediately said it back.  I was shocked.  I just thought it was a fluke, but he said it several more times.  I thought it was sooo cute when he would say it so I would laugh and smile.  So that just encouraged him to do it more and more.  Jon Kent as of yet isn't a great talker so the fact that he says "ball" is a great accomplishment but he said Fantastic...which is well....FANTASTIC!

Just Married

Well, my brother and his fiance finally tied the knot today.  Jon Kent did pretty well considering he had be pulled here and there all day taking pictures and being all dressed up.  I have a few pictures and will develop the ones on my "slow" camera and get those on here as well.  So enjoy what I do have...and there are a few random ones thrown in there as well.

Thanks! =0)

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words!  I was having a really bad day of just feeling fat.  I have decided to diet (Weight Watchers) just to get down to my original goal weight.  Which is only about 10 more pounds.  Once I get there, I will just maintain it with healthy eating, correct portion sizes, and exercising.  Which is the healthy way to go.  Doing the Weight Watchers will help me to get into the habit of watching what I eat.  But I am going to give myself Sundays off.  And maybe my birthday too (LOL).  Anyway, thanks again for all the nice comments!

Tomorrow night is my brother's rehearsal for his wedding.  It starts at 6pm.  I'm looking forward to seeing how Jon Kent does.  Only time will tell if he will even make it down the aisle.  I think he will...but I don't think he will stay there for the entire ceremony.  We will have people in the audience that can get him if necessary.  I will let yall know how it went!  The wedding is Saturday at 4pm.

Well, here are the rest of the pictures that I promised.  Enjoy!!

PS: Pictures

Here are a few pictures.  I will show more later.  Jon Kent and Zoey are both up from their naps and it's lunchtime!  Enjoy the ones up for now!

OH!  I don't know how the picture thing started working again.  I just tried and it worked!!  Woohoo!

<Insert Ugly Face here>

OK, it's official...  I'm fat.  There, I said it...fat, fat, fat, fat, fat!  UGH!  Just when I think I am getting to my "ideal" weight, I find new information to just slap my fat butt into reality.  I wanted to know what my body fat % was so I took all my measurements, figured up my height, and weight.  And guess what!  I'M FAT!!  I am 5 feet, 5 inches.  I weigh 139 pounds.  And my % was 33%.  It said the average American woman was 32% but my "ideal" would be 22%.  WHAT!?!?!?!  That is a whole 11% that I need to get rid of.  Not to mention it said my ideal weight is 114 pounds!  With that being the case I have 25 MORE pounds to lose!  I think it's finally time I gave Weight Watchers a call...  This is sooooooooooo frustrating!!!

<Ring, ring>

Hi, this is Weight Watchers.

Hey Weight Watchers, this is Emily and I am fat.  Can you help me?

May, what a wonderful month!

Happy May to all!  I can not believe it is May already!  t seems like 2006 just started!  And we are a little less than half way through it!  Yikes!

Today just happens to my Momma and Daddy's Anniversary!  Thirty years and going!

Tomorrow will be Zoey's 5 month birthday.  I can not believe she is 5 months already.  This was about the time that things really started to fly with Jon Kent as he was learning so many new things.  So I know time will speed up even faster with Zoey.  *sigh*  They are growing just too quickly.

Saturday (May 6) my brother is getting married to his LONG time girlfriend, Ashley.  The wedding is at 4 o'clock.  Kent and I both are in the bridal party and get this, Jon Kent is the ring barrer(sp?).  Haha, it should be an interesting time.  I just can't wait to see Jon Kent in his little tux.  I will definitely be getting some pictures and one way or another they will be in my journal. -Yes I am STILL working on the picture thing.

Also, this month is my birthday.  May 13th to be exact!  Woohoo!!  I will be 23.

And then Mother's Day is May 14.  Zoey is also getting dedicated that day at church.  It will be a busy, busy weekend.  Kent is taking that whole weekend off from work.  I am excited about that!

As for the rest of the month, I am sure there will be lots of fun activities to do.  My weight loss goal date is Memorial Day so I need to really buckle down and get serious with that.  As I still have 10.5 pounds to lose before then.  ACK!  I need to quit snacking!!!  -I say that as I pick the remaining chips that I just ate out of my teeth...
