So I promised..

OK, here are the pictures I promised.  AOL is liking me today so I got the pictures to actually download.

We went to the park in the town over from us twice this past week.  They have a huge park that has several playground areas for kids according to their ages, a huge lake with ducks to feed and a splash park.  Jon Kent absolutely loves the splash park.  He's not a big fan of pools but likes to run through the water so he always enjoys it.  Zoey enjoys it but gets bored with it way before Jon Kent.  So she likes going to the slides and playing there.  So anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Private

Went private just to have some privacy.  No reasons in particular, just thought it would be better this way.  Also, I am going to post some pictures when I get some more time on my hands.  The kids and I went to the park the other day and I got some great pictures of them playing.  So I may be back in a bit to post those.  AOL has been giving me some grief trying to post pictures lately, so maybe it will work this go around.  Anyway, talk with yall later!

Rain, rain come my way..

So it hasn't really rained here in months and I do months.  We have gotten a shower here and a sprinkle there but it wasn't enough.  Just enough to make my hair poofy.  So today we finally got a good shower.  It lasted about an hour with about 30 minutes of just sheets and sheets of rain.  But I still don't think it did any good.  But it was nice to have a good shower.  It made the kids take longer naps today!  After eating lunch they both went down at 11:45amZoey woke up at 2:15pm and Jon Kent woke up at 3:30pm!!!  That is the longest nap he has taken since the trip to the beach and even then he was tired from playing in the ocean and sand.  Today was just normal stuff and he still slept almost 4 hours!  He was a tired little boy.  I hope it's not a sign that he is getting sick.  He is known for taking a long nap (2-3 hours) and the next day coming down with something.  So I hope that wasn't the case and he was just tired.  The rest of the day was rather boring.  Kent called and said he wanted to eat out tonight so we went and got Chinese, then took a trip to Wal-Mart to grab some things.  Then we came home and watched "America's Got Talent".  My parents then came over for a visit and both of the kids wanted to go home with them.  But it wasn't Saturday (their usual night for spending the night with "Gramise and Poohba) so they were needless to say heartbroken.  But they got over it and took their baths and are now sweetly asleep.  As for now, I'm getting ready to head to bed myself.  So I guess I will end this VERY uneventful post here.  Talk with yall later!

Add her to the list

Zoey is sick.  Bleh.  She started running a high fever last night -102.7.  So we put a call into the nurse.  She told us to just treat the fever and if it doesn't get better to put a call in to our pediatrician's office.  So last night the kids went to bed around 9pm.  At 10:21pm Zoey wakes up whining.  By the time I am in there her eyes are closed and she is moving around trying to get comfortable.  So I pat her back for a bit and go back to bed.  This happened off and on every 20, 30 or 45 mins until 2am.  At 2am she did it again and I went in there to check on her again.  She was asleep but wrestling with her covers.  She felt hot but I didn't want to wake her up.  So she finally settled down and I headed back to bed.  At 4am she wakes up and is crying.  So I go in there and she is burning up.  I get Kent to grab the thermometer and the Tylenol.  She was running a fever of over 101 so Kent gave her some Tylenol.  She laid in the bed with us talking and playing until about 4:45am when she started to drift off.  So I took her back to her bed.  She slept from 5am-8am.  She woke up in a better mood but still was running a fever.  So I called her ped's office and they asked us to come in.  So we did.  The doctor did an examine on her and then got a strep throat swab and some blood from her.  She doesn't have strep but she does have a bacterial infection somewhere.  So she is on antibiotics for it.  He said if the fever isn't gone by Monday to bring her back in.  So it seems we are back on the sick wagon for a few more days.

More beach pictures and another update

My daddy sent me some more pictures that he took while we were at the beach.  A lot of his turned out better than the ones we took with our camera and/or he took pictures that I didn't.. "Pink (Mary Kay) Car picture" would be a great example.  Anyway enjoy!

As for the "Jons" in the family.  Jon Kent is still improving.  His ear has quit draining blood so that is good.  And he doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all.  He is taking his oral medicine great but doesn't like to have the drops put in his ear.  But all in all he is taking it well.  Jon Wesley got to come home today from the hospital.  We got to see him tonight at supper and he seemed to be fairing well.  He still sounded congested but he is on a ton of meds for that and breathing treatments.  So hopefully that will heal everything up soon.

Well, that is it for now.  Talk with yall later!

Update on Jon Kent

My little man has an ear infection.  =(  He woke up today fine and didn't have a fever.  But when I went to actually take his temperature in his ear it was bleeding.  So I called the doctor after Jon Kent woke up from his nap and told them what was up.  They asked me to bring him in.  So when we got there the doctor told me that his tube (the one that has been in there almost two years now) finally fell out.  His eardrum was inflamed and the doctor said that when it gets like that the fluid can sometimes cause a small pin size hole in the eardrum and cause it to bleed.  So he put him on some steroid drops and a round of antibiotics for 10 days.  Hopefully that will knock this thing out.  I was worried about him having an infection so soon after the tube fell out and him having to have another set put back in.  But the doctor told me not to worry about that just yet.  That this may just be a fluke.  He said if he has 2 or 3 more in a year or so then we will reconsider our options, but for now it shouldn't be a big deal.  His left ear looked great and it hasn't had a tube in it for about 6 months.  So that is a good sign.

My nephew, Jon Wesley, is in the hospital.  I don't know the full name of it or even how to spell it for that matter, but it's his breathing and his lungs.  He has been in the hospital since yesterday.  And we really don't know when he will be coming home.  I'm hoping it's soon and they can figure out what to do for the little man.

Well that's my update on the sickies.  Hopefully my next update will be a bit more pleasant!

Noah

And no I'm not talking about the one who built the ark.  Zoey has picked up the word "no" but it comes out "Nooooahhhhh".  Like she has a little attitude with it.  It's incredibly cute and funny and I don't really think she knows what it means, but I know it's just a small glimpse as to what we are in for when she is 16.  She is truly her own person, for sure.  She is also sporting a huge black eye.  She looks like a football player to me.  Like she got hit really hard.  But she actually got it while jumping on her brother's bed, which I told her not to.  She jumped, lost her balance and crack her head on Jon Kent's bed rails that keep him from falling off the bed while he is sleeping.  She wasn't at all pleased about it and cried for a good bit.  But she got over it.  Now when you talk about her black eye she will point to it.  So she knows it's there.  Zoey has also learned her name.  I'll point to her and ask her what her name is and she will say "Oey".  Cutest thing ever.  My name is Momma and Kent's is Daddy.  Jon Kent's is Bubba.  Although if we ask her where Jon Kent is she will point to him.

In Jon Kent news, he is sick.  Well he is running a fever.  Hopefully when he wakes up tomorrow it will be gone.  But before he went to bed it was 100 so we gave him some Tylenol and I'm hoping that will knock it out.  If it does turn into something I hope Zoey doesn't catch it and that whatever it is doesn't require a trip to the doctor.  Those are never fun.  I hate it when my little man, or little girl for that matter, is sick.

Oh yeah.. in response to a comment I was left by my dear ole (I said ole not OLD) dad, my parents were also on the trip to the beach.. in which they were kind enough to pay for 90% of it as well.  So a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE thanks goes out to them.  I love yall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  PS:  Can we got back next week!?!!?!?!? ;0)

Beach Trip 2007

The trip to the beach went great!!  I was dreading leaving!!  And that rarely happens after spending a whole week gone from home.  But I could have stood to stay a few more days.  I'll try to get in most of the details in my review and try and keep it as short as possible at the same time.

Sunday morning we woke the kids up bright and early at 5am.  They woke up in great moods.  We asked them if they were ready to go to the beach and they both popped up with excitement in their eyes.  The trip down went great.  Neither fussed or got restless.  About half way down we stopped to eat breakfast and to walk around before finishing the end of the drive.  Once we got to our room we unpacked and got our bathing suits on and headed to the beach.  The kids LOVED the sand.  They had a great time playing in the ocean and playing in the sand.  We then went to the pool for a bit.  The condo we stayed at had a kiddie pool area that was just the right size for Jon Kent and Zoey so they both loved it.  Although they both went under on several occasions but managed to deal with it fine.  I about had a couple of heart attacks but after the 100th time I got used to it.  Sunday night we ate at Pineapple Willy's.. it's my favorite place to eat at the beach.  The kids both got their first taste of alligator tails (ick) and they both thought it was chicken.

Monday we headed back to the beach for a bit.  The kids loved it again and we took them out to a sand bar that was about 50 yards or so off the shore.  They loved splashing and playing.  We then headed back to the pool where the kids made some friends and played with all of their toys.  They did well though with sharing so that was good.  After the kids went down for their naps, my brother, his wife, Kent and myself all went parasailing.  I've been before so I knew what to expect but it was everyone else's first time.  As we were waiting on our "shuttle" to come to take us to the boat we were watching other people parasailing.  When we were about to leave for our trip to the boat we all looked up and saw this guy falling from the parasail rope.  Kent immediately freaked out and so did my brother.  I tried telling both of them that it was probably just someone who worked for the parasail people who grabbed the line and rode up 50 feet or so and then let go.  But neither one was listening.  Kent went around asking everyone who worked there what was up but no one knew what he was talking about.  Finally when we got to the boat Kent asked the driver and he told them the same thing I said to them.  So that calmed some nerves.  Kent and I went up and everything was so pretty!  Kent even said it was peaceful.  It was peaceful until Kent got the bright idea to start messing with the hooks that hold us up there.  He got a pretty good laugh out of it, but I sure didn't.

Tuesday we did the beach thing again and the pool thing.  The afternoon was spent sleeping because it rained and stormed the whole afternoon.  But it was so peaceful and we all slept a good 2-3 hours.  It was really nice.

Wednesday was another regular day at the beach.  The kids played in the ocean for a while and played in the sand as well.  They both liked to find seashells and through them into the water.  We also went back to the pool for some more play time with friends.

Thursday was just about the same as Wednesday.

Friday we did the beach and pool thing in the morning.  The kids went down for a nap so Kent and I went down to see if we could take a ride on the banana boat.  But since the water was so choppy they couldn't just take the two of us out.  I guess we didn't weigh enough.  So we went jet skiing instead.  Kent drove first and it was fun.  Then I got on there and I was doing fine.  Until.. Kent started slipping off and when he did he pulled me back to which I hit the gas even harder.  He was screaming for me to stop and I was screaming that I couldn't because he had me pulled back that I couldn't get my finger to release off the gas.  Finally I some how got it to release so we stopped.  Kent said I was trying to kill him and told me he would never ride with me again..  I still laugh about it when I think about it.  That evening we went back to Pineapple Willy's and this time the kids both ate squid.. calamari.. or whatever... to me it was a baby octopus.. (ick).  After supper the kids, Kent and myself rented an electric golf cart type thing to ride up and down the strip.  The kids loved it.  Kent didn't because it was pink.  He said he felt like he was driving a Mary Kay car.. lol.  But we all had a good time.

Saturday was spent traveling back.  The kids did great again and we got home fairly quickly.

All in all it was a really good trip and we all had a really good time.

Last Entry Before Heading to the Beach

"The Heavy Harmony Brothers" performed yet again last night.  And we had a blast!  I got pretty nervous before going on and I really don't know why.  I guess it was the fact that new people were there, but thankfully the nerves left me after we started the show.  Afterwards, we had 2 or 3 people ask if we could perform at different events happening over the next couple of months or so.  We have 2 "gigs" down and maybe 2 more in the works.  We all thought it was pretty funny that there were so many people asking us to perform again for their events.  We had and hopefully will continue to have some good times!

Well, I have started packing for the beach.  And I just want to go on record right now as saying it is totally ridiculous how much stuff we have packed and how much stuff we STILL need to pack.  It's amazing how much stuff two little kids need to function a week!!  I'm looking forward to it though.  My parents are already down there.  They said the water was really choppy and the flags were red (meaning you can't go swimming).  Hopefully the waters will calm down soon and we will be able to get in and enjoy the ocean.  My brother, his wife and my nephew are leaving tonight to head down to the beach.  They are hoping the baby sleeps all the way down.  They will arrive sometime early tomorrow morning.  We plan to leave at 5am tomorrow morning.  There is no telling how the kids will react to being woken up, but I think they will do fine.  It's a 5 hour trip and we are going to stop along the way for breakfast and maybe lunch.  We are taking some portable DVD players for the kids to watch as well.  So hopefully we have all our bases covered.  Well, I guess that is it.  We will be back Saturday sometime.  I hope to have some pictures to share when I get back.  So until then.. talk with yall later!

More info.

OK, here is the whole story to the entry below...

Mrs. Debbie (pastor's wife), Nicole (pastor's daughter), Molly (a friend) and myself all got together and put this quartet together.  Mrs. Debbie had done it years ago and thought it would be funny and fun for us to do for our church.  So for about 6 weeks we snuck around and practiced and got this whole thing pulled together.  No one at our church knew what we were doing.  They all thought a real (talented) quartet was coming in.  Only people that really knew were us, Kent, my daddy and the pastor.  Everyone else was in the dark.  And we almost got caught on SEVERAL occasions.  Anyway, we 'performed' last Sunday night as a kickoff to our VBS for the week.  We were all soooo nervous before it all started.  But as soon as we all walked out and started our 'show' it became fun.  And everyone loved it!  We have been asked to do it again tomorrow night at the ending of the VBS.  There will be a lot of 'new' people who haven't seen it yet... so it will be pretty exciting and fun!  I'm looking forward to it.  So there it is.. all the details of the "Heavy Harmony Brothers" quartet.

Some pictures

Here are some pictures.  It's not from Sunday night but they are from a couple of our practices.  You will still get the general idea.  I'm the one in the orange and blue coat with blue pants.

The mood struck!

Kent and I went out tonight for a date.  The kids were at my parents' for the night so we decided to go to a new place to eat.  We have been wanting to go to this Japanese restaurant for awhile.  But every time we went the line was always out the door.  But finally we drove by there tonight and it wasn't crowded so we stopped.  The food is a bit pricey but for the entertainment you get, it's worth it.  As they seated us with about 7 other people I was  bit nervous.  I'm not a people person and for anyone that knows me knows that it takes a long time for me to warm up to anyone.  Once I do, I'm fine but I can't warm up to a complete stranger in 30 minutes.  Anyway, as we are waiting to get our soups and salads I'm looking around.  I'm watching all the chefs cooking and all the people watching in amazement.  Then it happened.. one of the chefs started cooking some rice and throwing it into people's mouths.  I said to Kent, "Kent that guy is throwing food into everyone's mouth!"  Kent, surprisingly to me, got a nervous look on his face and said, "EVERYONE'S mouth!?!?!"  I said, "Yes!  Is our chef going to do that to us?"  Kent.. "I sure hope not!  Is he even ringing their mouths?"  Me.. "No!"  Kent.. shakes his head in hopes our chef doesn't do it.  Well...  ours does.  LOL!  And a guy at my table and me where the only ones that food actually got into our mouths!  And the chef guy tried Kent's twice!  LOL!!!  It was a really good time though!  We'll go back again for sure!

A week from tomorrow, we'll be heading to the beach!!!  Yeeeehawwww!!  I am so ready for this vacation!!  I can't even describe how ready I am!  I'm not ready for the 5+ hour drive with two kids, but hopefully they will do fine.  This coming week will hopefully make time fly.  We are having a kick off thing tomorrow night at church for our VBS.  I'll take some pictures.. because yall will NOT want to miss it!  I'm sure I will have some of yall rolling!  So check back for an update!

Well, I guess I better get off of here.  I will talk with yall later!
