Redneck Theater

First, let me say this...  I'm very proud of being from the south.  I love that my roots are deep and that we live in the "Bible Belt".  I love the fact that my hometown is small and most people wouldn't be bothered if they left their front doors unlock or the keys in their cars.  I like the community atmosphere here.  Where everybody just about knows everybody or at least knows their first cousin.  But.. we do have rednecks.  And when I say rednecks I mean people who just don't give a hoot about their appearance or their bodily functions or their behavior in public.

Last night Kent and I went to our local movie theater.  We usually go to the town next door's theater because they have better seating, better surround sound, and better audiences.  But we just wanted to stay close to home last night.  We get there and everything is fine.  The seats weren't great, but they did add a cup holder so we didn't have to hold our drinks this time.  As the trailers began to roll I am hearing people (grown people) burping and talking about this or that very loudly.  Then, the king redneck makes his appearance.  He is the one that laughs VERY LOUDLY and I'm not talking just a quick outburst.  But a loooonnnnngggggg drawn out laugh.  And when that moment of funniness has left the screen he is STILL laughing.  Yall, I wish I had a recording just so yall could hear it.  I've never heard a laugh like that one.  I mean really.  At one point in the movie he started laughing and laughing and laughing and everyone else starts laughing at him.  It was really kind of comical at that moment.  But it got old very quickly.  VERY quickly.  By the time we got out of there, I was ready to just get home.

Throwing up stinks- literally

So my carpets in my bedroom are currently drying from being cleaned and scrubbed this morning.  Jon Kent decided that chocolate milk didn't agree with him and he threw up at least 3 times.  Gag.  He was so sad about it too.  So now my house currently smells like chocolate throw up and Resolve Carpet Cleaner.  Ick.  I do believe after my second round of cleaning it, we will leave the house to run some errands and visit anybody who is willing to have us.  I can't STAND for my house to smell like anything other than clean.  Or at least smell fresh.  Which as of right now, it doesn't.  Gag, again.  And I'm wondering something.. why is it that every time something like this happens Kent is at work?  Why can't he be home for these little episodes?  Ick, ick, ick, ick, ick.

Well, I'm off for round two with the carpet and then to get the kids ready for a day out.  I'll talk with yall later.

Went back to public

I didn't want to, but I went back public.  I was having too hard of a time getting people who wanted to read my journal in to actually read it.  So... if there are any psychos out there who read my journal other than to just read it (i.e. try to stalk me down and kill me) then please stop reading it.  We are southerners who believe in the right to bare arms so.. there's ya warning.  And oh, in the state of Alabama all you have to be is in our yard and you are free to shoot.  So there's ya second warning.  You don't get a third...

In other news...

Well, there is no other news.  Same stuff.  Oh, we are going to buy Wiggles tickets for the kids for their birthdays.  The closest they are coming is like 2 hours away so that kind of stinks.. but.. we will manage.  It won't be until November until we get to go though.  I made the mistake.. the HUGE mistake of telling Jon Kent about it and he is talking about it like CRAZY.. ALL afternoon!  I told him that we couldn't go until we got our tickets, thinking that would detour him.  Nope.  He keeps telling me we need to go get the tickets.  He told Kent's grandparents to wait in their basement while we went upstairs to get his tickets.  LOL.  Funny little boy.  Cute too!

Well, that's it.  I guess I will talk with yall later.

A Zoey funny

To describe Zoey I would simply say, "She is her own."  She has her own thoughts, her own ideas and she just does them as she pleases.  She is outgoing.  Funny.  Smart.  Loving.  Sweet.  Mean.  A leader.  She is just Zoey.

So this morning Jon Kent wakes up and wants his "baba".  So I go into the kitchen to fix him some and see that Zoey is awake.  I just barely poke my head into her room and ask if she wants some baba too.  She tells me yes.  So I fix the kids their babas and go into Zoey's room to pick her up to take her back to my room.  Where the kids sip their babas and watch some cartoons for a bit.  As I walk into her room all I see is her diaper.. off of her.. laying in her crib next to her.  I freak out!  Not at her, but in my mind.  Thinking she pooped and pulled it off or whatever.  Thankfully she hadn't.  She in all her cuteness with seating in her crib with a naked butt and she couldn't have been happier.  LOL.  That's my kid for ya!

777

So yesterday was the infamous 07/07/07 date that anyone who has been recently engaged in the past 2 years or so has been waiting for.  I was reading a story on AOL's main page about how normally "The Knot", a wedding planning web site, had about 12,000 people registered for any given weekend.  But for this past Saturday, 07/07/07, they had 38,000.  Which would roughly put it past 3 times what is normal.  Las Vegas chapels were sold out and wedding planners all across the globe have been booked for this date for at least a year.  One said that the calls started coming in to book the date back in 2005.  Everyone is hoping the date will give them good luck in their marriage.  I guess with the divorce rate what it is (50% for those who may not watch the news frequently) they are trying to get every advantage they can, I suppose.  The year I got married (2002) the big date was 02/02/02 and the wedding would begin at 2PM.  I know a girl who got married on that date in fact.  She is divorce now though.  So I guess 2's aren't so lucky.  I got married on 03/16/02.  Wanna know why?  Because it fell during "Spring Break".  So I was out from college.  So it fit.  For those who are familiar with the Bible, 3:16 is also a famous passage.. John 3:16 that is.  But I really didn't notice that when we were picking out the date.  I just hope these people aren't marrying on this day hoping that in the end it will carry their marriage.  Because that my friends takes work, not luck.  And even when you work really hard, marriage still has it's hard moments.  It's when you get through those moments and realize that you are stronger and closer that you can call yourself "lucky".. although I rather think of it as blessed.  But that's just me.

Happy Birthday to my Daddy!

Happy 4th to All

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had a good day.  Busy.  But good.  We went to a family reunion on my dad's side of the family.  There were probably about 50-75 people there I would guess.  It's mostly extended family and I couldn't tell you 75% of their names.. so..  We ate lunch there and hung around for about an hour or so.  Then we piled the kids back into the car and headed back home.  Kent's parents were grilling out and swimming for the day.  We stayed there until around 6:30pm or so.  We had a good time and the kids kept busy most of the afternoon.  They didn't even take long naps!  After that we made the long trek (25 yards) home to take showers and get the kids changed so we could go to the park for the firework show.  We got there about 7:45pm and the show started at like 9pm.  We had a lot of family and friends show up in the same spot we were at, so it was fun.  After the show we headed home and got the kids in the bath and then the bed.  We are just relaxing now.  I do believe my bed is calling me though.  It's been a long day.  But a good one.  I enjoy these types of day of being busy and spending time with family.

Well, I hope everyone had a great 4th!  Remember our troops!!  And say a prayer for them and their families!!  They do so much to keep our 4th of July "Independence Day"!!!
