Jon Kent's ear surgery

Jon Kent had his ear surgery this morning.  Bright and early at 6:45am.  We got into the "holding" room and changed Jon Kent into the cutest little hospital gown.  It was so tiny and itty bitty.  It had two little ties in the back just like a regular hospital gown does.  When we would turn him around, you could see his little diaper hanging out of the back.  It was the cutest sight!  Anyway, we went back in to the OR holding area and waited for Jon Kent to be taken back into surgery.  All the nurses and staff came and talked to us and told us what their specific job would be.  He had a team of like 5 or 6 people.  It was hard to let him go when they took him from me, but I knew it had to be done.  Plus the whole surgery only lasted about 10 minutes.  They only had to use a gas mask on Jon Kent with no IVs or breathing tubes.  The doctor said Jon Kent would take two long breaths of the gas and be out.  The doctor put two tubes in and then drained both ears.  He said the pressure on Jon Kent's ear should be completely gone.  And that the whole surgery went just fine.  After Jon Kent was out of surgery he was fussy for about 45 minutes, but after some Tylenol and lots of loving he was good to go.  He slept on the way home and once we got home he has done nothing but played.  So he is doing very well.  Hopefully this will do the trick in making him a happier baby.  I hate to see him miserable!  Anyway, that's the update on his surgery!!

I'm glad everything went smoothly!  It's good that he played when he got home!

I'm praying that your little one feels better soon.  Those tubes should do the trick!  You were a strong mommy to hand your baby off... I applaud you, it's never easy, and it never gets any easier... but we can be strong for our children, and as they grow, they learn strength from us.

Blessings!!!
