A Day in the life of this mom

I got this idea from an article in BabyTalk.  It's a timeline of my day starting at 12am.

12am:  Sleeping...ZzzZzzZzz

2:00am:  I hear some movement through the baby monitor and pray that Jon Kent is just turning over or trying to find a comfortable spot in his bed.

2:20am:  Nope.  He is up and crying.

2:30am:  I get up and take Jon Kent into the living room to be rocked back to sleep.

2:45am:  I slowly walk with sleeping child in tow.  S-l-o-w-l-y lay him down only for his eyes to pop back open the moment his butt hits the mattress.

2:46am:  Change his diaper.  I also give in and warm him up a bottle.  Hoping to bribe him to sleep.

3:00am:  He is finishing his bottle and I am watching some news show about the hurricane.

3:25am:  Once again I slowly walk back to Jon Kent's room to lay him down.  This time he stays put--whew!

3:36am:  I have to potty.

4:12am:  I am still awake.  WHY am I still awake?!?!?

4:17am:  I have to potty---again.

6:30am:  Jon Kent is awake.  So I stagger into his room and scoop him up.  I then bring him back to bed with me.

7:30am:  Jon Kent is up for good now.  So his daddy takes him for a diaper change while I warm some cereal and apples up for him for breakfast.

7:33am:  I am opening windows all throughout the house because I can STILL smell the chicken that I burned yesterday--sigh.

7:45am:  I finish giving Jon Kent his cereal.  His bottle is warming up in the process.

8:00am:  I go to have my quiet time while Jon Kent gets his bottle via his daddy.

8:30am:  I am fixing breakfast for Kent and myself while checking my email.

9:30am:  We take Jon Kent out to swing since the weather was nice and cool outside.

10:00am:  It's time for Jon Kent's morning nap--I join in.

11:45am:  Jon Kent wakes up and is ready to play.  I am thinking I could use 10 more minutes.

12:00pm:  Jon Kent is getting his diaper changed and is heading next door to see his Granny while Kent grills hot dogs for lunch.

1:00pm:  Kent and I are finishing lunch and watching Millionaire.  Jon Kent stayed at Granny's for the afternoon---thank goodness for Granny!

1:25pm:  Kent heads to work.

1:30pm:  I am surfing the internet and catching up on all my message boards and emails.

2:00pm:  I start cleaning the house.  I clean my bedroom and Jon Kent's bedroom.  I vaccuum both rooms.  I wash dishes as well.

3:00pm:  I take a bath and get dressed.

4:25pm:  I am coming home from Granny's house.  After being there for an hour watching Jon Kent nap.

4:30pm:  I am fixing Jon Kent's bottles for the next 2-3 days.  He is playing around my feet and walking all around the house.

5pm:  I feed Jon Kent his supper.

5:30pm:  I feed myself my supper.

6:15pm:  We head to church for the evening.

8pm:  We are on our way home from church.

8:15pm:  I get Jon Kent's bath ready.

8:20pm:  Jon Kent is splashing in the tub while I clean the bathroom.

8:35pm:  Jon Kent is finishing his bottle while I am watching Dateline and rocking him.

9pm:  Jon Kent is asleep in his crib--hopefully for the night.

9:15pm:  I wash the 2nd load of dishes for the day and clean the kitchen sink.

9:30pm:  I get online to check my mail while the sink is soaking in bleach.

9:53pm:  Finishing this entry only to head into the kitchen and finish cleaning it.

Hopefully.......

10:30pm:  I am cutting logs.

12am:  Still cutting logs.

Doctors, Hurricane, Lysol, and much, much more!

Today could be 3 days rolled into one.  It has been one busy, busy day!  So let me just run down the timeline for ya.  5:30am: Jon Kent wakes up, but I am able to get him back to sleep.  6:45am: Jon Kent is up for good.  I give him cereal with bananas and apples.  He also has a bottle.  He gets down and plays for a bit and I start washing clothes.  8am:  Kent starts calling the doctor's office trying to get an appointment for Jon Kent today.  Jon Kent had broken out in a mysterious rash yesterday.  8:20am:  We finally get in and are told to be there by 9am.  So we all get dressed and ready to go.  9am:  We are sitting in the waiting room.  9:15am:  We are called back.  The doctor looks Jon Kent over and says he has "roseola".  I probably misspelled that, but it will be OK.  Anyway, so he gives Jon Kent some antibiotics and tells us that he will probably develop a fever between 101-103.  But "don't worry".  Uh yeah...like I'm not going to freak out or anything if my baby has a fever of 103.  Don't be surprised if they don't call you (the doctor) when we are in the ER...  ANYWAY, so we go to Rite Aid and drop off the Rx.  9:45am:  We are in Wal-Mart doing our normal bi-weekly grocery shopping.  We had to wait in line forever because one of my coupons wouldn't work.  I would have just said the heck with it, but it was $8 off so I was willing to wait...  10:30am:  We walk in to Food World to get some odds and ends that are cheaper there than at Wally.  11am:  We are pulling out of Food World with a knocked out baby in the back and a car full of groceries.  We go by Rite Aid to get the Rx and head home.  From 11:30am-1pm is nothing but putting up groceries, washing clothes, and eating lunch.  Also, we checked in with the hurricane.  Looks like it will miss us this time.  Just some rain and storms here.  Although now that I say that it looks like we are in a Tornado Warning...should have just kept my mouth shut.  Still isn't going to be THAT bad here.  1:15pm:  Jon Kent wakes up from his over 2 hour nap.  I take him next door to his Granny's so that I can disinfect the house of any germs that might have caused Jon Kent's lovely little rash.  I have completely done two rooms as we speak.  Still have 2 1/2 left to do.  Not to mention I am still washing clothes.  To which I will probably be doing all night because I am having to rewash a lot of Jon Kent's clothes because those too may have little rash germs on them.  I still have to take out the trash and do my "normal" Monday cleaning.  Let's also not forget that I am nesting and really just want to throw everything out of this house and bring it all back in one piece at a time after it has been thoroughly cleaned.  Fighting the urge to do so is tiring.  But there isn't much to do for Zoey just yet because I really don't have anything for her...so sad I know.  By this time last year with Jon Kent I had everything for the most part ready for his arrival.  Oh well, by the time she gets here, things will be done.  Well, it looks like my little break is over so I will end here.  Have a good Monday everyone!!

It's a sunny Saturday and all is quiet in the house

I have things that I really should be doing, but it's so peaceful right now that I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts.  Kent is working the day shift (woohoo!!) and will be home from work around 4pm.  Jon Kent spent the night with my parent's and is now probably walking around their house tormenting their cats or something.  And I am sitting in a pretty clean house although I do see some things that could be done.  Will I do them???  Probably.  But at the same time I just want to go find a spot in the sun and tan.  But it's too hot or at least too hot for a pregnant woman.  Unless....unless I go and float in Kent's parent's pool.  But that will probably not happen...  So I guess it's piddling around the house.  Oh what fun!!  I'll update yall on all the exciting details of my day later...nah I'll spare yall the misery!!  Have a good weekend all!

I've got ants in my pants...literally

Really and truly...lol.  Today I was throwing some dirty clothes into the hamper when I noticed there were some ants crawling on top of the clothes.  I only saw about 3 or 4 so I just thought either Kent or I had brought them in on our shoes.  So later on Kent is getting one of his uniforms out of the closet so that it could be ironed.  He grabs his uniform and it had ants all over it.  So we both go to the closet and there are ants all over his side of the clothes.  We couldn't for the life of us tell where they came from.  So we go through the clothes hamper and there are ants EVERYWHERE!  How they got in there is still a mystery.  So we took all the clothes out of the hamper and I washed them and Kent strayed the inside of the closet with ant poison hoping to get rid of them.  Hopefully it will work.  It made me want to take everything out of that closet and clean it...but I fought the urge.

In other news...I feel like an inflated beach ball.  I swear my fingers and toes have swollen so much in the past few days.  It's this durn heat and high humidity.  Not only is my hair a big poof ball so is my entire body.  I NEVER felt this huge with Jon Kent...actually I don't think I ever got this big with Jon Kent...period.  I don't see how my skin can stretch anymore...but it will and I will have the marks to prove it.  But those are just my "badges" of being a mommy.  I wear them proudly...under a long shirt.  Night all!

"I didn't do nuthin'!"

He was caught red handed!!!  I went to throw a load of clothes in the washer and he was in my bedroom playing.  Next thing I know I hear little sounds and babble coming from the bathroom and above is what I saw...

I love being a mommy!!

Hopefully the *cold* war is over...

FINALLY, it seems as though Jon Kent's and my colds are finally over.  We still have the sniffles and a cough here and there, but nothing compared to what we were dealing with.  I absolutely hate having a cold in the summer time.  It's already hard enough to breathe some days with the humidity but add on a cold and it's down right miserable.  Jon Kent didn't sleep well for almost a week.  So that was loads of fun.  Not to mention he is cutting teeth during all of this.  He seems to be cutting at least 2 teeth if not 4 teeth.  So cutting teeth and having a cold is a recipe for misery.  But to look back now, it just made Jon Kent and me bond a little closer.  He got extra snuggle time and we took naps together.  He made me learn some new patience (which I am sure I will need for his teenage years) and have more compassion.  Which are two things I seriously lack (hangs head in shame).  So anyway, we are both doing much, much better!  And to throw a little praise towards my hubby.  He was wonderful to Jon Kent and me this whole past week that we have been sick.  I have to say he is definitely the cream of the crop!  It made me love and appreciate him even more.  Working hard at his job and then coming home and being the nurse and housekeeper was more than I could have ever asked for.  He is such a wonderful husband and daddy!  Well, I am off to wash clothes and finish cleaning the house!!  Yall have a great day and enjoy the pictures!!

Happy 9 Months Little Man

It's been a quick 9 months!  When Jon Kent was first born, I thought the first 6 weeks would NEVER happen and ever since he turned 6 months old, time has been flying.  And I am sure things will only pick up speed.  Jon Kent has been out in the *real world* longer now than he was in my tummy.  Which if you think about it can be a little sad.  Before I know it he will be starting school.  :::Throws thought out of my mind::::  He can crawl, stand, walk, and talk (mamamamama among some other babble).  He can smile and eat small meals.  He can laugh and play peek-a-boo.  He knows his mommy and daddy's voices very well.  He has 3 1/2 teeth at the moment and seems to be working on 3 1/2 more.  He is just learning and growing so quickly that it truly amazes me at times.  I never thought I could love someone as much as I love him.  It's amazing how I can be in a bad mood but he can give me a cute little smile and I can't help but smile back.  He has taught me to have patience and compassion even when it seems that I have none left.  In these last 9 months Jon Kent has truly blessed and enriched my life more than I could have ever dreamed!  So, Happy 9 Months my Little Man!!  And here's to many more months and years ahead!!!  I love you!!

SUPERMAN!!!!

These are pictures of one of the shirts that we ordered from Katie (see entries below).  She did a really great job making this one!  He proudly wore it out and about today!

I had an OB appointment today.  Everything checked out just fine.  The baby sounded good and my belly was measuring right on for 24 weeks.  I gained 3 pounds which adds up to 6 pounds total for the pregnancy.  I was slightly dehydrated but adding a little extra water to my diet will fix that.  My iron levels were still low but not AS low...so I still have to take my iron pills.  Blood pressure was fine as well.  I go back in 4 weeks to have my glucose testing which is always loads of fun.   *enter sarcasm*

While we were out we went to the mall and got Jon Kent some shoes.  We have been looking for some shoes for a long time now for him.  But his feet are so FAT and wide that we ended up have to go to Stride Rite and find some shoes for him there.  Which we did...but boy did we pay for the "special sizes".  But he looks cute in them.  He won't walk now...but he DOES look cute in them...LOL.

Well, I better go.  Little man is pulling on the mouse and trying to add his 2 cents into my entry.  So, have a good weekend everyone!!

PS: I have no idea why the first two pictures are blurry.  Hopefully by the time I save this entry, it will have fixed itself.

Belly pics and some other randoms

Not much going on in the "O" household.  Today was a cleaning day for me.  But my wonderful and loving husband let me sleep in this morning and he went down my "To Do List" (I make one every night before I go to bed) and did most of what was on there.  I had done a few things last night but he did the rest, except two things, this morning.  He finished washing the clothes, he dusted the baby's room (I couldn't get to it last night because Jon Kent was asleep), he washed dishes, he made up bottles, and he vaccuumed!  How wonderful is my husband!?!?!  Sorry ladies...he's taken!  Kent is now taking a well deserved napped with Jon Kent.  As you can see in some of the pictures.  I still need to go and fold some clothes now that the floors are dry from being mopped.  Enjoy the pictures!!

Now that I have the time...

::::Let's out a deep breath::::

First of all, about a week and a half ago the bank that my momma works at was robbed.  I believe it was only the second time that it has ever been robbed.  The guy came in and waved a gun around, got some cash, and took off.  He was never caught.  THEN, this past Wednesday it was robbed yet again.  The same thing happened.  A guy came in, waved a gun around, and took off with some cash.  This time however he was caught.  Come to find out it was the SAME guy who robbed it last week AND the SAME guy who robbed it 8 YEARS ago.  So the question that I have been wondering is this:  HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO ROB THE SAME BANK IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS?  Not to mention that he just got out of jail not long ago for the first robbery.  I guess he thought he got away with it a week ago and he would be able to get away with it again.  However, there were cops all over the place.  Even a security guard in the bank.  Stupid, stupid, stupid.  GET A JOB!  @@ (rolling my eyes)

Speaking of jobs...  I have been looking for a stay at home job that I can do and still be at home for my kids.  It's not the easiest task to do.  I'm really not looking to get into something like Mary Kay or Avon right now.  Because with me fixing to have another baby it just isn't reasonable.  However, jobs that I could do on the computer or over the phone would work.  Sooo, I *thought* I had found one.  It's hard to explain the whole process of this job but the more I got into it the harder it seemed to do.  I had already paid some $$$ to start up this job and then decided to cancel it.  The only reason I had paid the $$$ to begin with was because with the information I had at that time it seemed like a good job.  But once I was "allowed" to access their "member's" site it totally overwhelmed me.  So, I tried to cancel it (which I can) but they had already shipped me my detail kit and some products (that I ordered).  So I wrote the lady who was my "business coach" and told her that I didn't feel like this job was for me...blah, blah, blah.  She of course wrote back trying to talk me out of it and so forth and so on.  So I called the company and my first words were to them were: "I want to cancel my account and get my money back and I don't want to be talked out of it".  Of course they still tried to talk me out of it.  But I digress...  SOOO...now I have to WAIT for my kit to come in AND my products to come in so I can just turn around and ship them back and get my money back.  Which can take 6-8 weeks to do.  All this wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the fact that I feel totally stupid for doing it in the first place not to mention it's money out of pocket right now that we can't get back for 6-8 weeks that we may NEED!  I hate making mistakes and I feel so foolish for the whole ordeal.  I was trying to help with the house whole income so we could be a little more comfortable when we start making house payments on our new house.  What makes me feel even worse is we CAN make the house payments without a second income I was just trying to help add a little cushion.  But I even messed that up.  <Yeah, I am having a pity party...wanna come?>  LOL.

Enough about that...  Jon Kent is going to bed each night on his own now.  Well, he cries for like a minute only because he knows he is going to bed.  But once I put him in his bed he goes to sleep.  Only problem we are having now is that he wakes up around 4am every morning and thinks it's play time.  It takes me or Kent almost an hour to get him to go back to sleep.  It's very frustrating because I don't know the reason why he is waking up and wanting to stay up.  He acts sleepy but doesn't want to go to sleep.  I give him a sippy cup of water (we have cut out the middle of the night bottle because he would only eat an ounce) and he will drink a little bit of that.  But he will eventually just push it away and want to get into the floor and play.  I've tried letting him cry in his crib but he will cry and cry and cry and still not go to sleep.  I am hoping this is just a phase and he will start sleeping through the night EVERY night soon.

Well, there is my entry.  It's a long one so I hope you didn't get too bored by reading it.  I'm off to finish my "To Do List".  Yall have a good day anda great weekend!!!
