Where shall I begin...

We took Jon Kent to his regular pediatrician yesterday to get a check up for his ears.  We have been fighting ear infections for months now...  Anywho, so we go yesterday and Jon Kent still has some fluid in *one* ear.  Remember that one ear...  So the doctor refers us to an ENT specialist.  We get an appointment for today.  The ENT takes a look at his ears and he has fluid in *both* ears.  *sigh*  He said that there was even fluid behind his ear drum.  And it was *JELL-O* like.  Ewwww!  He said that is why Jon Kent's ears haven't been healing because the fluid was so thick that it couldn't drain.  So the answer was....tubes.  We have to go July 8th and get tubes put in his ears.  Which wasn't *as* bad as I thought it could have been.  They used to put the babies totally under with an IV and it would take like 30 minutes or so to do the whole surgery.  Now, they just put the mask over them to relax the baby so they don't wiggle around.  And it takes about 5-10 minutes.  So it's still nerve racking but not as much.  So keep our little man in your prayers.  I still don't like the idea of someone taking my baby away from me and doing ANYTHING to him.  <pout>

Today we also went house shopping.  We are looking into building a new house!  *****WOOHOO*****  I am soooo looking forward to building a new house and having ROOM to put all our STUFF!  We have found a floor plan that we really like.  We are just checking out all our options before settling on a plan of action.  I'll keep yall updated!!

Well, I need to jet.  I have a load of clothes in the dryer to fold and another load in the washer that needs to be dried.  Have a great night everyone!!

It's not so bad.  I had a lot of infections when I was a kid, just about JK's age actually, and the tubes would have been better then suffering in pain.  Of course I don't remember the ear infections but when you do get fluid behind your ears they never heal.  You can literally bathe the kid in antibiodics and they won't do anything!!  Hope he feels better soon!  -Dawn-

It's good you caught it this early....a neighbor girl was about 3 before they put tubes in her ears. She basically couldn't hear and was having speech problems.
